When I was in my late teens I would always misplace my things, it happened at least once every 4 months and maybe as often as three times a month. I also got D’s in university. Now I have not lost an item in over 12 years and I get angry when I get an A and not an A+. The one thing about me that was better younger was I could memorize 300 pages a day when I was 18 and I could also think faster than 99.998% of all people which was proven through IQ tests. But when it came to science classes in school, I had terrible logic and was lucky to get above a C. I almost failed my first year in the gifted program as a teen. So grades improved and I stopped losing things but could no longer memorize 300 pages a day.

None of that checks out. IQ tests are not based on reading skills. If you have a high IQ you will have very good logic skills. Things like math and logic as it relates to various scientific theories, engineering topics, and the math that surrounds them will be extremely easy and almost boring at times. Rote memorization isn't any real indicator of intelligence. It's a talent that is usually rooted in personality for approval seeking individuals who are eager to please. It's the entire cognitivists vs constructivists thing-a-majing... Why you were likely better at it when you were young is because 1) you were a kid so you probably looked up to authority figures like teachers and your Asian parents more than you do now at 38 and 2) you were actively involved in scaffold learning as you progressed through school so it was easier to just keep stacking ideas on the previous ones. Now you have had a long gap, so you have to rebuild a lot of those ideas being that you never really learned them solidly and lost them over time.
I think none of this has anything to do with IQ.
