Why is it when you look up the highest pay for your job it's always low?

Example, me a pipe welder. It says the most experienced make around $56,000.00 then why do I make between $130,000.00 - $180,000.00? Big difference in my opinion I guess.

I have noticed that also. Some of it has to do with using old numbers. Some of it might be because of differences in regions.

I'm guessing those are avg salaries and depending on where someone lives, overtime, etc will cause actual salaries to be hire? I don't know?

I would assume, the 56k are for an employee, while your numbers come from being a freelancer, doing 10+ hours for 6 days a week?
