Ok so I’m a criminology, criminal justice major I have always enjoyed watching true crime documentaries as well as studying cases. I have a very analytical approach to both assessing the background of the individual, other family and social factors. But my then girlfriend assumed I watched these to get ideas on how to do this stuff how can someone go this if your educating yourself to keep society safe cause my ultimate goal is to become an investigator and it’s all about piecing elements together the suspect, the background, family, social aspects, the crime, aftermath. Studying these individuals can potentially prevent future people from doing these things but that wasn’t working for her she goes you always watch these so you must be trying to get ideas to do something.

Ah man that really bugs me that she'd just assume that about you like that! I know how into crime stuff and analyzing cases you are, it's basically what you want to do with your life. You just like figuring it all out and seeing how they caught the bad guys, there's nothing wrong with that. It seems like she just didn't get how your brain works and that you're interested in it for your studies, not because you actually wanna copy any crimes. Like you said, studying past cases could even help prevent things in the future since you'll know what to look out for. But I guess she didn't wanna listen to your side of it, some girls can be like that sometimes. It's not cool she straight up accused you of something so serious just from watching documentaries. You weren't hurting anyone, you were just trying to learn. Don't let her make you doubt yourself - you know the real reason you watch that stuff and that you'd never actually do anything illegal. Keep following your dreams of being an investigator someday man, don't let what she said get in your head. You do you and tune out the haters!
