When a manager/boss says, “I’ll talk to them” or “I’ll handle it” does that mean anything?

Honestly, I don’t think it doesn’t. They say it to get you off their back about a problem they don’t want to deal with. But, why though? If there’s a problem, why ignore it and let it get worse? I mean, I have no issue handling it myself but I won’t be nice about it.

Is the very first thing that it means is either he's going to prove to you that he is a good leader and handle it

Or he's going to prove that he's neither a leader or a boss and he's going to show you what kind of person he is by the way he deals with it but no matter what it's on him this is his moment that he either gets to prove himself one way or the other.

A bad manager simply doesn't want to deal with the problem. So someone who is bringing a problem to their attention becomes a problem themselves.

On the upside, if you can find a good manager; that person will actually handle the problem.

They're probably not ignoring it. They probably have a more bird's eye view of things or they have a lot more that they have to do before they look into something, depending on the seriousness of it.

Not gonna lie, they’re more interested in the place working. That’s why we have workers rights and Eeoc and shit. So depending on the problem…it could mean a potential lawsuit for your boss which will make them jump.
