It may have been a sport , a job , a situation..

How did it work out?

I accepted long ago I'll be happier single and without offspring (weddings are expensive anyhow, as are mortgages and being responsible for a spouse, lol) aka expenses 😂♀️🥳
Indeed 😊😊👍🏻 who knows the future, nobody 😜
With thanks 👍🏻
When I ran marathons I had to realize that I was much too heavy for the sport.
Nah, this is more like it.
Kind of is. You realize you are not good enough. Then you think about it a bit and go, "Hey! Wait a minute! It's not that I am not good enough for him, he is not good enough for me!" Unless you were talking about something like sports or a job? 🤔
We are talking about everything..
Sport , relationships , employment , business , school captain , community leader.. all of the above and much much more. I think in the example you give , you should never feel that way , because the selection is subjective.
I'm referring to " No , I'm genuinely not good enough to be sales manager " ( Or my skills must improve ) or " I'm just not good enough to play the US tour " ( and I have to admit that ) .
I see, you should have explained a little more on what you were looking for. 😕
Realizing you're not good enough in a situation is challenging, but it can lead to growth. During my early career, I once assumed I was ready for a promotion but lacked some specific skills. Instead of feeling defeated, I took it as an opportunity to upskill, focusing on areas where I needed improvement. This motivated me to take additional courses and seek mentorship. Eventually, this not only prepared me for future opportunities but also instilled a sense of humility and resilience. Embrace such moments as learning experiences, as they can catalyze personal and professional growth.
