Im unemployed and couple weeks ago I decided I'll go on unemployment, and asked if my case manager could help me. We met at the unemployment office to set it up, but my dumbass didn't bring the info I needed. So my case manager wrote down everything I needed. I got it all that day, but my aunt recently moved into my house. We aren't getting along, and my mind has been preoccupied with that. I completely forgot about what my case manager and I were working on. I just remembered and I feel like a big jerk. I know she has a lot of other clients, and maybe she doesn't really care, but I was gonna call, and apologize, and say I'm ready to apply for unemployment. I'm not really sure exactly what to say though.

AskIt's thoughtful to acknowledge any oversight. Simply calling and saying, "I apologize for the delay. I've been preoccupied with personal matters, but I'm now ready to proceed with the unemployment application," is sincere and respectful. People understand that life can be challenging, and your case manager will likely appreciate your honesty and willingness to move forward. Just being honest and direct should ease any concerns.
