What are the characteristics of a great manager or boss?

Empathetic, compassionate, understanding, approachable, nice when you get to know him/her, and excellent communication skills to achieve the success & closeness with their high powered team.

I would say this about anyone in a leadership role since these are leadership qualities I expect from those in power. It isn’t just about projection, dominance, strength, resilience, and mental fortitude, though everything has its part in success & maintaining structure of a team.

Lets subordinates do their job their way and doesn't micromanage. Has their subordinates back when it comes to supporting and promoting (only in the sense of having faith in their own abilities)
