I suppose whether you enjoyed travelling, and being away from home, would depend on the job, and where, and how you was travelling.
I'm single so staying away from home isn't really a problem for me.
I've have been employed in a job that involved some travelling.
I found it fun at first, but as soon as the novelty wore off I found the travelling tiring, even travelling by myself.
I think if the job included nights away from home, whether the traveling was enjoyable, would depend if you was travelling alone, or with someone else, and if you enjoyed spending a lot of time with them.
My job involved occasionally travelling and staying the night, with sometimes a few people.
My job was an experience, and I can imagine even if I was travelling, and staying away from home by myself, I would soon loose interest in the job.
I much of my career, I traveled a lot, and was away from for, in some cases, a few months at a time. It was enjoyable to see different parts of he world and meet people of different cultures, but tough at times on the family.
In winter I don't even like going out to check the mail and this time of year I'm not going anywhere that I can't wear my jammies. So, no, I'm staying right here by the woodstove.
That would never work for me. I have too many commitments right here.
Balancing travel and home life in a job depends on personal preferences. From my own experience, traveling for work can offer exciting opportunities for networking and exploring new cultures, which can enrich professional growth. However, it may also pose challenges like time away from family. It’s crucial to weigh the career benefits against personal lifestyle priorities. I prefer jobs that allow me to make an impact without extensive travel, as they offer a balanced approach to professional achievements and personal commitments.

Been there done that from the day I was born. My father was military. I was military. 6 corporate moves after the Army. Constant travel for a private equity firm that owned 2 dozen companies.
I am done with travel. At least air travel. The New York airports are brutal to get to / from.
I had a job that required a lot of travel. It was fun at first and I got to visit a lot of places in this country that I never would have seen. But after a while I was staying in the same hotels, eating at the same McDonalds and driving the same rent a cars.
I have and it is not what it is cracked up to be. You are working like stink without the support infrastructure you would normally have. You get to see little of the country you are visiting. You aren't on holidays.
Not right now. Would miss kids too much. When they were older, I could see some appeal to it, of it paid well enough
Yep that’s what I’ve always done and prefer it that way. Hate going home every night
no... commuting sucks
