I assume you mean "they're not able to afford to live". Because i don't have a "conventional job". So i don't work. But i really just want to anymore. But i also can afford to live without working. Believe me, this exasperates my family because they all work.😆

If a person couldn't afford to live i don't know how they could NOT work. That would drive me nuts! But i would GUESS they've always found someone to take care of them to this point.
