It's a publicity stunt and she can't mean the things she says because she's a celebrity and celebrities lie like all the time. They can't make goofy or pointless videos. Too many people don't understand that hip-hop is satire, and is meant to be entertaining. The hip hop artists don't really do all that shit they say in their music. We are wise enough to know that. :)

I don't get this... none of this makes her a better singer... this is one of the problems with modern singers, people care more how they act then how they sound. Plus last time I checked most pop singers are girls.

This wasn't me defending her singing capabilities, this was just me defending her as a person. Because when people judge Nicki Minaj, it's always something along the lines of "oh, she's a bad role model because she looks like a slut and because the songs she's most famous for are stupid". There's a lot more to her than that, and I'd like it if people actually stopped, and thought about the fact that she's a real human being who has faced real struggles. The press isn't covering her telling kids to stay in school or to be confident, or to explore their sexuality and be who they want to be. That's not fun. So of course they'd much rather write about her singing about "stupid hoes" or the fact that the way she dresses is revealing.
All I'm saying is, don't judge a book by it's cover. And she's predominately a rapper, so yes, she actually is surviving in a male-dominated field as a rapper.
