The Waltons while a cute and charming show had absolutely nothing to do with reality

back when it was made peoples lives were good so many shows concentrated on a utopian version of reality... today most shows go the other way and concentrate on distopia to make us think our real lives aren't so bad... just a theory i heard but it does seem to make sense
