1) On Marvel's official Power Grid rankings, Rogue's max potential is a "7" in all six of the official Power Grid categories. In comparison, Jean Grey only ranks with one "7" (energy projection,) and Hulk also only ranks with one "7".
2) In the very first issue where Rogue appeared, she permanently absorbed Captain Marvel and temporarily absorbed FOUR Avengers simultaneously, including absorbing Thor until he was unconscious. In the comic, she then had their combined knowledge and abilities, and she remarked under her breath that she could "EASILY KILL ALL OF THE AVENGERS".
3) She is often portrayed absorbing Kitty Pryde and Juggernaut simultaneously, making her potentially intangible and invincible at the same time.
4) In some timelines she has even absorb Thor to DEATH and has temporarily absorbed both Hulk and She-Hulk to unconscious. In X-Men: Evolutions timeline, Rogue simultaneously absorbed every X-men and Brotherhood team member and simultaneously had Juggernaut's power all at once. In this timeline, she even absorbed half of the Phoenix Force and knocked Jean Grey on her behind during the "Rogue defeates the X-Men" episode, which was Season 3 Episode 9 I think.
5) Present Rogue is even stronger, having given up Captain Marvel's power, but absorbing Wonderman. she is pure ionic energy and can now drain life and abilities at range without need of touching the opponent. She now has FULL CONTROL of all of her abilities, which have been repeatedly stated as "Unlimited Potential" in multiple timelines.
6) Yes she has been beaten a few times, but that is mostly because of Plot Induced Stupidity ,because she rarely fights with her maximum potential. She usually does not use her life/ability stealing powers except as a last resort.
Here, Rogue's powers have gone haywire as she accidentally absorbed Mystique (her Mother) which unlocks part of her true power, which is remembering all of her other powers simultaneously. She also absorbed Multiples Man by accident a few moments later. In this battle, she manifests Juggernaut's power spontaneously and also "remembers" Storms power from weeks earlier. Then she defeats all of the X-Men except Xavier, who helps her regain control of her abilities. she could have killed even Wolverine with her combined powers, except she fought to control the power inside her.
