What's the point? Humans can't change sex, only some frogs can do that.
Just frogs? There are also fish, snakes, lizards, and slugs that can as well
@MidnightCowboy Fish - maybe, but I've never heard of such fish. If you mean Seahorse - nope, they just have the reverse sex roles (males give birth instead of females).
Lizards - no, some lizards are unisexual (they have only one biological gender, usually female, they reproduce by parthenogenesis).
Slugs and snails are hermaphroditic (each slug is both male and female at the same time, they don't need to change sex).
This article proves otherwise
animalogic.ca/.../6-surprising-animals-that-can-change-sex
@MidnightCowboy Interesting, Clownfish and Wrasses, good to know and the only accurate example in the article.
Corals are not much of an animals, they look more like plants, but ok.
As for the slugs, it just comfirms what I said: Slugs are hermaphrodites, they don't change sex, they have both male and female organs, and they use them simultaneously.
Snakes are reptilians, just like lizards, so it's not unusual for some species of snakes to reproduce by parthenogenesis, but that's not "changing the sex", it's just unisexualism (aka Gonochorism).
Some birds can be both sexes simultaneously - that's not changing the sex, is't hermaphroditism.
Lobsters and butterflies - it's possible because they are arthropods.
y. do. u. care. so. fucking. much. its. just. a. woman. playing. a. fictional. character. 😧😩😫😑
why do people care? Because indiana jones is an established character, you can't just cut his dick off, it's part of who he is, that old dog lol
We just do...
@Greatcat 'an established character' 😂😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 im fucking rollin
bitch yu drunk? Yeah he's an established character, you don't just change somebody's character fundamentally once it's been established. Is peter griffin going to be a griffen in family guy from now on? Is the next uncharted going to feature nathan drake as a woman? How about a female batman, but not batwomen because that already exists, we'll call it 'batmom', it's brilliant! Yeah let's release a school of rock where jack black is actually jaquila black and is a sexy strong independent black woman because female minority's can rock too!
Just make new characters and new stories if you want a female indiana jones make a lara croft WHY NOT JUST USE LARA CROFT FFS
Tomb raider was interesting. I have no objection for a woman doing Indiana Jones role
It would be interesting.
A male Lara Croft would be nice.
For a moment I was thinking of swapping
Female James bond
Male Lara Croft
Female Indiana Jones. . . . .
Let’s leave Indiana Jones as a man.
For sure. Please also make a movie about Queen Victoria - with a man playing the character. Long live equality! :D
Female reboots are all the rage now. I would prefer original stories with female leads. I'm sure that a bunch of writers already have the stories and scripts.
it’s like saying tomb raider will be a dude one day
Doesn’t bother me I mean there’s lots of female actors who play lead roles now & a female Doctor Who but I don’t watch that show but I don’t get why so many people were mad about it that’s what I heard
I like the idea, either way, I will keep watching Indiana Jones
I'm still hoping Chris Pratt gets the role.
I agree, he would be perfect i.pinimg.com/.../...c7dd06f0f78d1c3878d3403e34.jpg
No one will be able to replace Harrison Ford in my opinion.
May as well make it Lara Croft... they do similar shit.
Sounds fine. I like the tomb raider Lara Croft idea more than Indi though
It just wouldn't be Indiana Jones, a spin-off, yea maybe like his daughter continuing his legacy, ok.
Lara Croft was very popular with guys, so I think a female Indiana Jones might be as well.
That's because Lara Croft is a female character, always has been.
I don't care. Its crap anyway. As soon as he survived the nuclear explosion in a fridge i thought this is shit.
Please no, unless it's a sort of a "spiritual successor" that's a separate person in-universe. But then it wouldn't be Indy so i guess it negates the whole point lol...
Someone brought up Indy having a daughter who would continue his legacy. Interesting idea, though he does already have a canon son. But they can recast Shia LeBeouf as a woman for I care XD
I think its dumb not because i dont want female roles. If they want to have a female Indiana Jones then they should write a new role for a woman. They shouldn't be recycled old ideas.
3rd wave feminist crap.. Indian Jones should remain a guy whatsoever
And I think a male should get the role of Lara Croft one day.
Contrarily to Doctor Who being a female, which I think is absolutely fine, for Indiana Jones it's ridiculous
For Doctor Who, it's no problem tbh since it's been firmly established in the lore itself that time lords can regenerate into a different gender prior to it happening to The Doctor, so it fits well within the universe--doesn't feel like fanfiction or anything.
Doing something like making a completely human character suddenly go from white to black or male to female, however, without any story backing said transition is problematic though, mainly because you're basically creating a completely different reality/universe.
I agree, Lara Croft should be male if they make that radical change to Indiana Jones.
I hope she turns out to be as entertaining as the 11th Doctor (Matt).
Making a character of a similar role is fine. Commandeering Indiana Jones because you’re a gender communist is not.
Hate it, why dont they create new female characters insted of changing clasics to make a political point.
There already is a female Indiana Jones.
Lara Croft, Tomb Raider maybe you've heard of it.
I wouldn't go trying to take the wind out of her sails.
Supposed to show that women can have lead parts too, not just men. I think it's awesome... finally, equality!
That’s why they created tomb raider. However, it’s more probable that they’ll give the role to Chris Pratt instead.
Not in this era... hopefully
There has been a lot of talks of how Chris Pratt may be the next Indiana Jones. Personally I think Chris Pratt getting the role is a much better idea than the former.
Could make a spinoff series with a daughter or a lover or something. That's what DR. WHO did before they shoved the lady in the role just because she'd done broad church with the doctor.
SUPER bad idea.. Didn't learn anything from Ghost Busters.
Lol... Feminism.. so dumb.
I don't think it's bad to have a female lead that is like Indiana Jones. I think it's bad that people are so lazy that they don't want to create a new character and just want to change the gender of an already existing character.
If that happens, I will watch it. My girlfriend would make a good Indiana Jones, she's tough and loves an adventure
Ahhh, recap of Angelina Jolie in "Tomb Raider" , Personally would like to see more females in Indiana Jones type role
Another pointless reboot just for an excuse to cast a woman. Definitely just an indictment on the quality of modern cinema
It's stupid, unlike Doctor Who, Indiana Jones is not Gallifreyan, he can't change his biological gender.
I'm not sure how I feel about this. If done right - maybe, but I doubt they will. I hope they don't ruin my favourite movie franchise.
Why change Indiana Jones. Why not come up with a different strong female lead character
Not surprised that you’ve got your knickers in a twist over this, key smash boy.
I have the right to express my opinion.
Yes, and that goes both ways, key smash boy.
Ah, the irony in that startement. If you truly meant that, you wouldn’t be resorting to ad hominems.
That’s your favourite word, isn’t it?
Pity that you tend to use it wrong.
Don’t like the truth do you? Also, I don’t know why it’s so hard for you to understand but indoctrination has no effect on a critical thinker.
Oh, bless. I think that’s the funniest thing you’ve ever said.
The only reason I haven’t hit the “block” button yet is because I want to see if you are mature enough to agree to disagree. The only reason you keep this argument going is because you keep beating around the bush.
Oh how terribly amusing. Threatening me with the block button. I’m positively quaking.
Harrison Ford is a crap actor. Anyone is an improvement on his wooden performance. That includes my melodramatic 20-year old cousin, who just split up with her boyfriend and swears she’s dying of the pain.
That’s your opinion and a unpopular one which you are entitled to. Even if it were true, it’s not a good enough excuse to completely change the sex of the character. With that logic, it’s perfectly fine to make a male Laura Croft character.
Why not come up with something original instead of rebooting a iconic franchise to caters towards a specific audience? I never said I have a problem with dominant female leads but I simply don’t think it’s right to tamper with a character just to appease a specific group of people.
Because studios are lazy and coming up with something new is both a financial and talent risk.
Atomic blonde was original.
A hot white lady goes on a killing spree? Where have we seen that before?
At least Proud Mary had a black woman... even though it wasn't an original storyline.
Furthermore, you could sub in a wooden mannequin for Harrison Ford in literally any of his roles and there would be no difference in the performance.
The character for “atomic blond” was original, that’s the point. How would you feel if gal gadot was suddenly replaced with a very masculine male actor for Wonder Woman to appease the male audience? That’s along the lines of what this question is about. Not only that but it would obviously be a reboot that would completely mess up the whole story. We all know how much people hate reboots.
The only way they can somehow make it work is if instead of making Indiana Jones a female, they make a separate character like his daughter that continues his legacy.
The male audience was appeased with Justice League, where Gadot was not permitted to wear shorts under her skirt. So every time her skirt flipped up, you saw her full ass. Unlike in WW, where she wore the shorts.
The point, key smash boy, is that men see themselves in movie heroes all the time. Especially white men.
Women do not.
Now you are starting to understand what I’m saying girl, although you’re obviously not going to admit that getting rid of the heroic male archeologist character means men will no longer see themselves in that character. Women already have their own female archaeologist character named tomb raider. That means Nathan Drake will need to be brought to the big screen.
I have no idea why you are bringing “race” into this but just remember that the progressives/liberals still don’t care about the lack of Asian and Hispanic men in Hollywood.
No. Men will see themselves in the countless other straight white male protagonists. Indiana Jones being a black woman in the reboot would be badass.
And having a Asian male like Donnie Yen or Mark Dacascos play a masculine version of Lara Croft would be epic.
Indiana Jones is meant to be a movie for a predominantly male audience. Don’t be surprised if a female Indiana Jones gets a low rating. Just like how the 2016 ghostbusters got a puny 5/10 rating.
I think it would be cool to have a MoC play Indiana Jones. I’m super stoked about the Crazy Rich Asians movie that’s coming out in August.
But I know that as soon as it does, all the little white boys who elected trump because they’re scared of losing their social capital will be up in arms because “why aren’t there any white people? It’s about rich people!!! Asians aren’t rich!!!1!1!1!3!”
I don’t know if that outrage will happen but in my opinion politics should be left out of movies that aren’t even meant to be political. They should be strictly apolitical. I don’t think the “Trump voters” will actually be upset about seeing Asian leads because it’s something different.
They were pissed about Black Panther. “Why aren’t there more white people? It makes no sense!!! A majority black cast in a movie set in Africa? Preposterous!!!1!1!1!1!1!1!1!1!3!”
I think their pissed about the timing of the release of that movie, not so much the content.
Do explain why the problem that white supremacists had with the Black Panther movie was due to timing. I’m truly interested to see what kind of mental gymnastics you have to go through to explain that one.
It was released during a time of division. It’s not just so called “white supremacists” that had a issue with it, it was also many people who felt that Hollywood released it to make a political statement. It doesn’t mean everyone who criticized it is a “white supremascist”.
Right, because the attitude towards black people in America has been so unified and harmonious up until now. Child, please.
Binary thinking and biases make people assume that it’s simply a “white male vs liberalism” issue, when it’s far more complicated than that. There are many other groups out there that have had enough of Hollywood’s liberal/progressive indoctrination. How hard is it for Hollywood to make a movie that is apolitical?
This is one of the major issues that people have with political correctness, it only benefits certain groups while neglecting and it vilifying other groups. As someone who is of part Asian descent, I can tell you that many Asians are switching sides and becoming both libertarians or conservatives due to how Liberals neglect Asians. How often do you see a Asian get a lead role in Hollywood?
Did you actually watch it or are you just on a soapbox again?
Watch what?
So you’re definitely on a soapbox. Cool. Have fun with it.
Are you taking about the black panther? Because I’m not the one who had a issue with it.
Indiana Jones is a man... that's like the doctor in Doctor Who being a woman, but worse...
I don’t really like change but I know that change is good
I wouldn't mind him being a female, it's just that it would ruin the franchise by swapping his gender
There's only one Indiana Jones. But, he could end up having a daughter that's just like him.
Why? Can't they just make a female explorer in her own franchise?
Yo I agree with you 💯
I like continuity, so a female in the role is absurd. However a female playing a similar leading role, go for it.
It’s good, much better than movies like Snow White and Cinderella
In such a movie would the girl be rescuing other girls in those scenes or guys?
There's already a female Indiana Jones, her name is Lara Croft from Tomb Raider, and she's way more badass than Indy will ever be.
Tomb raider is alright, but is more of a Indiana Jones ”knockoff”.
We have Lara Croft in Tomb Raider for that! xD
Ridiculous, would not watch it
Indiana Jones is getting a sex change?
No, the directors are thinking about replacing Harrison Ford (when he retires) with a female actress for the role.
Which would mean that Indiana Jones, currently a male, would become a female. Sex change.
I find it hot and badass. I like tough female characters who are adventurous, not those princess types.
That’s what Tomb raider is for.
She already did, her names Lara Croft.
It’s absolutely ridiculous
Yeah, I'm in the "It's Ridiculous" camp.
Doesn't shock me. Diversity sells
Wannabe Tomb Raider.
We already have Lara Croft. It's a dumb idea.
Can't wait to never see it.
I mean Laura croft. Lol
isn't that basically what tomb raider is?
I'm perfectly fine with it.
"... Huh?"
That's my reaction.
If she's fucking badass, heck yeah XD
