Does music heal your soul? Does sad music make you feel worse? Saddest songs ever/Best songs ever... Go?

It does very much so, here are some of my faves:
One -Mary J Blige W/Bono
Honesty -Billy Joel
Slow Dancing in A Burning Room -John Mayer
Here’s the Billy Joel one..

It does, I can’t live without music. Wherever i go, there has to be music or else I have a lack of motivation.
I prefer catchy songs most, the kind that gets stuck in your head 😄
Share a catchy song you like!
I probably know all the words to Allstar (haha)
I’m not familiar with the rest but I’ll check them out! Thanks!
Depends this Creed song was a great comfort to me after my dad passed away
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fE-sXvCDyOcI’m glad that it gave you comfort. I’m sorry you lost your dad. ❤️
TY but that was 16 years ago. Almost 17 now. Day after Christmas. His death caused me to grow a lot spiritually. I don't feel it was an accident that Creed is a former christian band. His death is just more proof to that there is a god and heaven is real. No one deserved paradise more. :)
That’s really great. ❤️
I have the same feeling about my mom deserving paradise. Her faith never wavered. I can’t speak for myself. I’m still working through the anger phase.
March 2017. I’m still processing that it really happened, that it’s real at all.

Don’t know about healing the soul. Sad music doesn’t make me more sad.
Saddest song ever:
I shouldn’t have listened to that. That kind of messed with me but I didn’t turn it off.
Glad you did though. Great song, but sad huh?
Good song, yes. Wicked sad. Brought me lower. But my mood is significantly effected by music.
Oops. Sorry bout that. Wasn’t trying to bum you out worse. Thinking about your mom again?
Here’s a funny one to cheer you up:

No, it’s okay. I asked for sad sons specifically. You just never know what kind of pull it will have over you.
Yes, my mom. Always.
Thank you for the cheer up. ☺️
Ugh *songs
But also, this is my cheerup jam:

That one was funny. Love the video. Never saw it. Love the part about the tats. Lmao.
Whaaaa never saw it?
Nope, but glad you showed it to me 😊
So funny! Thanks for sharing. At lest she gets fucked properly... hard at the end... so it has a happy ending and everyone wins.
See... romance isn’t totally dead!
Haha Glad you enjoyed. Although this thread was about sad songs? I don’t know how it got to this 😂
Because I felt bad my sad song made you worse.
This has been great because I discovered 2 things.
1. Romance isn’t dead.
2. I hade feelings.
See. What a wonderful learning experience.
That’s right... Considerate of you— but you had no way of knowing how it would affect me.
But what discovery!
I enjoyed the cheer up. ☺️
Don’t be going around telling anyone I was considerate. Wouldn’t want people thinking I went soft. Not to mention no one would believe you. Lol.
Then let’s say considerate meaning that you gave careful, disassociated thought.
Accurate... no one would believe that such a misanthrope would go soft!
Ahhh good. Now your being considerate about my insecurities. Yeaaaaa. Any more of this and I’ll be promoting the world hold hand and singing kum by ya together.

But, but... I love kumbaya.
Lol.
It can have a therapeutic effect, but it can also remind me of someone or something, both positive and negative. As far as sad music goes, it can go either way depending on the song and my mood.
Instrumental music is especially therapeutic for some reason. Not sure why.
Depends what sort of sadness or happiness you're looking for.
Sad (?)
Possibly uplifting (?)
Saddest one i know is "die alone" by A Pale Horse Named Death. I can't even listen to it because really bad memories are attached with it for me..
Yeah, that one’s a downer, but great song.
I definitley hear a type o negative vibe in it
Yeah. I actually like that song though.
Yes. I've been lobbying for a standalone music topic for 3 years lol. Music binds the soul and is more than capable of driving every emotion out of your body and mind as well! Sad music centers me.
Spot on. I’ll lobby with you! What do I need to do?
Can you share some of the music you like?
Not much can be done, I mean 3 years of trying.. I like most music ranging from classical Bach to Synthwave. Not a fan of newer mainstream shit disguised as music, like Busta Ryhmes doing a song with Beiber. That's just sad on a different level!
Ew, that sounds terrible, you’re right about that.
Do you play an instrument?
I'm ok with an acoustic guitar, better with drums.. If ghost writing was considered an instrument, I would be a musical master!
Oh. Uhm. When I get home I will try to find something. Way too many to choose. Damn.
Did you think of any?
That can be hard when it reminds you of the past. I can remember what song was playing when I got into a car accident more than 12 years ago. Even the mood it produces is triggering of memories.
Why is your music taste changing?
I’ll check those two out.
Good! Whatever the reason, unless it’s drugs, that’s great!
I couldn't live without music. It gives me good vibrations, deep feelings and the sounds wich makes me calm.
It is the only thing which make me cry or exactly tears drop appear with some music.
I like many kind of music.
I like pop music and also dance music and even some tracks of metal mysic.
Of course "give the beat boys and feed my soul I wanna got lost in your rock and roll and drift away" saddest song all by myself Eric Cartman I think that's his name... And without you -nillson or something like that
My top three best songs
Perfect-Ed Sheeran
Don’t Make Me Wait-Sammy Hagar
I Can’t Drive 55-Sammy Hagar
3 Saddest songs ever
Don’t Take The Girl-Tim McGraw
Roller Coaster-Luke Bryan (I can belt this song out).
Ronan-Taylor Swift
When the party's over - billie Eilish
Sad songs make me feel better when I'm sad in a way.. Sorta help me have a good cry and let it all out
Here is a song that will make you cry Sting... Kate Bush, A woman's work
Music can help in actively influencing your own mood but the exact effects are probably mostly up the individual.
I personally thrive off hardstyle music, it gives me a sense of energy, glee and grit all at the same time.
Anything Korn really.

I am too. Like when the words really do touch your soul, it like cool water on a burn sometimes
YEBBA -My mind
John Legend- Ordinary People
Ellie Goulding- Between the Sheets
Yeah I don't get that. Why do people listen to sad music when you're already sad. Listen to happy stuff.
Like wake me up before you go go by Wham.
I'm a heavy metal musician, so this is kinda my forte!
