As I said in the question, I had no plans to watch it, regardless of the actor. So it was never going to appeal to me. That isn't the issue here. It could have been a white male, black male, Asian female, white female, black female, I don't care. I wasn't going to watch it anyway.

Is it a bad idea, because you think it is? Well your opinion is like an asshole. The only difference is some assholes will see this movie and disagree with your assessment.

The focus on color and gender is just a deep rooted insecurity of being replaced and intimidated that others can shine and be seen in a positive light.

Not all movies are made for white men. White men will survive if 007 is a black woman.

I care because I grew up with the bond movies. I care because its associated with my culture. I care because I used to enjoy the movied and had hopes that they'd freshen things up.

Forcing diversity into a specific role doesn't benefit anyone. Why not create a new character? Why take an already existing role and push diversity into it instead of simply creating diverse roles?

2nd Currently, it is a bigger issue, since you grew up with the series, its a part of your culture, and now that a black woman is 007 your feelings are hurt.

Despite the fact that you wanted things freshened up, a black woman as 007 has your panties in a knot. Its too much for you. You have to complain, because a white man no longer is 007.

Where are you getting this diversity doesn’t benefit anyone from? It benefits a lot of people. It benefits children. It encourages inclusiveness. It brings a sense of normalcy to everyday lives. It creates a sense of community and normalizes people from different backgrounds.
