A Female 007. Yay or Nay and WHY?

The James Bond movie series has been on over 60 years with different male actors and is one of the biggest cinema character in the history.

For me! It's a NAY.

WHY? James Bond 007 is already established fictional character for all these years with a massive fan base with a signature cars, style, the hair, the weapons, the budget and more.

Atomic Blond is a good movie where they could make a nice well written, well filmed, excellent cast, very good executed and it has potential.

Creating a new movie series with a females/women in the lead as spies with licens to kick ass and make it look good, well written... I wrote (well written) because there has been a lot of shitty written movies since covid came along, even movies with male actors in the lead roll were soooo baaaaaaaaaad.

A new movie with a new character , a new story instead of taking over something that already exists.

What is your intake on a female 007? Who would play the role?

The important destinction for me is it replacing James Bond or would it be a situation of him getting 'fired' (again) and a women takes his code?
Replacing James bond in its own franchise is a big nay. We dont need it. If we want a women in the franchise more prominently, who is not just a prety girl on his side, do it like M played by Judi Dench for excample.
Working it into a story for one movie, wouldn't be problem for me. Give it back to him later though. In this case I dont care who takes up 007 if its story relevant.

We don't need a female version of fictional agent in same way like we don't need a male version of queen Mary.
I would prefer producers and owners of James Bond brand focus more on good and rational stories than following all politically correct trends from last decades.

There can be a female 00. Moneypenny would have served, but her role would be different. Athleticism is critical and Women's Sports show that there is a variation.

My opinion is that the closest to his drawing was Timothy Dalton.

Bond is British (UK), white and male. Simple as that.

Fuck no! James Bond is a badass spy who travels the world kicking ass and sleeping with exotic women. The character doesn't work as a woman because nobody who likes Bond wants to see a movie about a woman riding the cock carousel around the world and her beating up men is simply not believable. In the case of that shitty atomic blonde movie there is no way a 90 lbs woman could beat up multiple 200 lbs men regardless of her skill level; this is why boxing and UFC have weight classes and why no woman has ever attempted to fight a dude in these settings including the "transmen". Conversely you can be a lousy male fighter, go trans, and wreck the women.

Nay. The point of James Bond is that he is the masculine ideal, men watch him because they want to be like him. Buff, attractive, deep voice, intelligent, wealthy, tall, powerful and very, very good with women.

Changing Doctor Who is one thing, but changing James Bond is a vast misunderstanding of their own franchise. No one would watch it.

I’m so tired of Hollywood making half arsed sequels and remakes of old popular IP’s and recasting the main character as some inexperienced diversity hire or a masculine woman, killing off the original or making them appear weak, writing an B movie script for it. Telling the fans of the original IP that voice their concerns that this show or movie “isn’t for them” then screaming about some societal injustice because they made bad PR decisions and a terrible movie that nobody wanted.

Why not just have a different code for a female bond? Or hell not even have her be a bond let her be her own unique thing and succeed or fail on her own code name.

The other bit of this, Bond goes into Gentleman’s clubs, walks in to Casinos etc, a girl would not get into the club and would get hit on constantly in the casino. Yes a lot of girls in Mi5 and Mi6 but not as Bonds role

No. Who James Bond is and how he looks was clearly stipulated by Ian Fleming in his books. If you want to make a female spy, make a separate franchise.

Well you would need Bond to die and the 007 nomenclature transferred to a female agent. Not impossible, since Bond would be over 100 years old by now.

Maybe Jennifer Lawrence could take on the role?

007 is not necessarily James Bond. The character is given the number of 007, but it doesn't mean that once Bond dies that the number will never be used again.
