Who are the "good guy" and the "bad guy" in Penny Dreadful?

I've not watched the show, but I know people who does. I don't always understand what they're talking about and I admit I'm too lazy to watch the show. So can someone explain me who's supposed to be the hero, villain and neutral/both in the show? Is it like Game Of Thrones without any purely good or bad guys? #PennyDreadful #GoodGuyVsBadGuy

There are no pure good characters but there are heroes.
One of the protagonists fairly clear cut hero is The American Gunslinger Ethan Chandler, aka Ethan Lawrence Talbot
His worst actions are as The Wolf Man though later as The Wolf of God he retains some control.
Basically his worst things were as a werewolf.

There is a spirit trying to possess Miss Ives. Supremely evil and demonic. It's the main bad guy, everyone else is the good guy or just minor bad guy players like Dracula or Frankensteins monster.

He isn't rhe villain but his character arc is about redemption for serious evil he committed while burning his way across the African Continent in the name of The British Empire and Exploration
