Because majority of the characters that get tied up in movied are girls, it like they are showing that girls should stay as the weakest gender and wait to be saved by a prince or something. I mean it is kinda romantic, but sometimes it is annoying. The prettiest or sexiest female/male gets mostly tied up🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Embarrassing isn't the world. Certainly doesn't reduce the characters value. I mean both male and female characters occasionally get tied up. Sure the reason and setting affect how it's seen but I enjoy a good bondage sequence just as much as anyone
