in my opinion I had a mcr/sleeping with sirens phase and now I really love depression music (goth), its relatable though. Bands like the cure just slap. Real alt people look great though, and alt music really helps depressed people
As for my opinion on Billie? really mediocre and over hyped tbh. Her songs are really basic but relatable and her vocals kinda suck really bad. People clearly found her attractive as their was this creepy countdown till she turned 18.
I'd say she isn't ugly

I think she's pretty, but I do not find her attractive, at all.
I can appreciate her artistic expression. I think her unique musical productions are pushing the boundaries of innovation and are not recycling the same 'old crap'. Now, whether it be influential for future artists or will remain unique to her is something to be seen still. This is an attraction to many audiophiles.
I also think that the attraction of her public stage persona is indicative of the state of Mental Health in our country currently. She herself also struggling with her own personal demons and being public about them helps others relate. This is attractive with other fighting their personal demons.
Unfortunately, a young person's Mental Health isn't necessarily a trend or phase.
There are many reasons that I like Billie Eilish, but let’s talk about her dark style, since you brought it up in particular.
It’s a double-edged sword. On one hand, it’s admirable because she is telling people that it’s okay to NOT be okay all the time. That gives people some grace to loosen up enough to seek the help they need. On the other hand, I wonder whether she thinks there is any hope at all. Sometimes, I get the impression from her that ALL is lost, which is definitely not a good thing to believe. There’s always a light. At times, I wonder if she can see that.
Bellie is a beautiful girl, but she's useless to me, she's just a satanic puppet being controlled to push a propaganda, and not only that she's the definition of misery loves company, I hate to say that but it's true, most of her song reek of depression and she's getting tons of money off of that. It's a chaotic world we live in and especially for us teens we tend to be very emotional, so it's no surprise that she has a huge fanbase full of youths. They might listen to her songs as a way to escape reality or just because they can relate to her pain.

I like her music and like that she isn't afraid of being herself. She doesn't have to be some dolled up Barbie. And the millions of dollars in her bank account couldn't care less about if you like her style or not.
The world doesn’t only like seductive half naked things
the girls is pretty overall but it’s mostly about the different type of music she came out with.. this whispering she calls so going even when to most it is not actually “singing” .. it’s still something different and people like change.. something different and it’s pleasant to the ears for most anyway. Not about how she dresses or what her body can offer to you.. she selling what people find airing the sound of what she makes and the style she wears is also different than the typical average everyday person wearing super tight clothes to show off body. She's fake but does it well so Game recognized i guess. Also getting her brother to write her songs was smart. I like some of her songs tbf. But yeah she's for sure not someone i am fan off. But still credit to not just be another trending dojo cat who has zero good songs and is an awful person.
Personally I find her pretty useful when it comes to removing the pretentious idiots from my life.
If someone claims to be a Billy Eilish fan I know immediately that 1) this person wouldn't know music if it hit them on the head. And 2) they are exactly the kind of gake attention seekers who would pretend they like this unusual kind of music just to look very complex and deep.Thank you so much for this post! I personally cannot stand her or whatever it is that she calls music. I listen to metal which has dark themes but the music has power. Nothing about her whispering lyrics is appealing to me. I like my music by people who are genuine musicians not someone who speaks song lyrics with a whole host of music engineers that actually create the music.
Cause she is real. Down to earth. She is not physically attractive no but that's not fucking everything. And tbh that's why i like her more. She isn't Ariana. She is just living her life the best she knows rn and is obviously grateful to even be where she is if you've seen how she talks about herself. I mean what is there to dislike? The way she dresses? Cause she doesn't dress like a princess? But instead a boy? That's the appeal. She isn't perfect nor trying to be. She isn't the perfect role model nor does she have the answers. People just wanna know they aren't the ONLY ONES. People don't relate to perfect people unless they have some story where they overcame. Honestly everyone is depressed. Everyone is like her they just dont show it. If you're not then you are in a prison and don't know it. Rebels know they are in one. Or you have figured out your life. If you don't understand it at your age you must be one fake person or have had a perfect little life
i think what's compelling about her is that she's in that phase like so (which makes her relatable for those in that phase) while being very successfull in her carreer and that without sexually objectifying her body. even though as you see in the paparazzi pictures: she definitely has the body to do that. i think specially as someone in the music scene that to me seems outstanding and remarkable. there are way less positive idols to be had in my opinion.
I have zero interest, why would I date a person who is depressed because it's trendy or what not, that'd just bring me down.
I'd want someone who would uplift me with their happiness.
Though it's a different story if the person I was going out with got "actual" depression, then I'd be there for her, wouldn't ditch them when times get difficult. It's because she's different. It's kind of refreshing she has issues and is open about it rather than putting on the image she's perfect. I've heard some songs they don't sounds bad kinda catchy. But this isn't the first artist who looked different or acted different. Been that way for years.
I feel like young adults have a lot of unresolved stuff so they gravitate towards someone who displays the things that they're missing. Like confidence, toughness, courage, presence, success etc. That's why the entertainment industry aimed at kids &young adults can seem a bit extreme from the outside but when you're the target market it makes total sense.
a lot of teenagers are going through a tumultuous time in their lives where they relate most to a more "depressing" style of music. And if you think the point of her outfits is to make her more attractive you obviously don't know that much about her. She's a teenager that has openly stated that she is deeply uncomfortable being sexualized and wears baggy clothes in an attempt to avoid that.
Oh I'm glad I'm not the only one questioning this! She's very pretty and has great vocal potential but why always the depressed vibes. It's good to destigmatize mental health issues, but I feel this does more harm than good...
Only generation Z would like that to be honest. Men back in the day liked real women and femininity. She's probably promoting that multi gender and binary/non-binary nonsense.
It's a variation on emo, which is nothing new. Her style that is. Her music is actually interesting.
I only heard her bad guy song and I didn't like it. Honestly I don't know why she's gained so much fame. I know her for the bad guy song, the green hair, and her wearing big baggy clothes.
I just don't get why she's popular. She has some nice tits though. Was the same with avril lavage she dressed all Goth and shit then her target Audience left their teens and she started to show more tits
Maybe because she's also a young adult herself, she's the same age as me if I'm not mistaken.
I'm no stranger of depression and I don't like being depressed, so I frown upon it being trendy.F**K no! But sprinkle in some cute, swaggie personality and anyone in almost anything could be attractive
she's not the first nor last. All rappers or pop musicians as of the last 3-4 years have been dark, emo/gothic. They are trying to influence the youth with what is being shown.
little Uzi Vert was the first, since then the music industry tried pushing industry plants onto the audience.Damn i didn't expect her body to be like that size
I thought she was skinny
Amazing what baggy clothes can hide
