Godzilla Vs Kong. Literally ruined everything, didn't even have proper credits. The rest all had credits showing you reports and stuff to do with the relative world of the universe. It set up nothing for another film and used Mecha Gidorah wrong... Mecha Gidorah and Mecha Godzilla are very much 2 different things. But yet they just had to add they used Gidorah to power Mecha Godzilla?
Making it an actual Mecha Gidorah but with 0 characteristics that Mecha Gidorah has just that of mecha godzilla.
And then... the whole film consisted of pretty much one solid fight that added up to nothing. Like yeah he wins but so what? Both still alive shrugs, and kinda pointless. Nvm godzilla could of took out mecha himself. Wasn't even a biggie, in all the other films Ps godzilla fought ageist at least 2 baddies at once did have mothra to help tho in King, But mothra at least made perfect sense and did something. Should of just got Rodan to help since he became a good guy after bowing to god would of made way more sense not that he needed it anyway.
interesting, this was actually my favorite godzilla movie, second place was its prequel king of the monsters
You a fan of the originals? And did you have knowledge of what mecha gidorah is supposed to look like? If answer is yes to both i really don't see how it could be liked in anyway. Even the humans were super dumb, just panic right away thinking Godzilla is bad when he has proved time and time again he is good. And he was only targeting on specif research center, but they all acted like he was attack random humans for no reason. When it was pretty obvious why he was attacking or at least what he was targeting.
I liked that both kong and godzilla became allies, so we get future movies from both, I like how it has more color than the movies before it, and as far as mecha ghidora goes, to me it made no sense to have him, because why create a mecha or cyborg version of something no one wanted around? it made more sense plot wise to just see him as a hidden building block for something no one would suspect has anything to do with him.
The originals were too cheesy for me, i always liked the concept, but it took the titanverse versions for me to really be a fan of the series
I always viewed the original films as parody versions of what could be
The whole VS each other films to not actually Vs and be friends cliche is really boring and dull. Mecha gidorah is more powerful and cooler than just mecha godzilla who has some sorta power due to Gid lol. 2 heads and a robotic one better than one head. And i am very much keen on character integrity to the originals. So i am gonna guess we differ on that.
Yeah I don't agree with any of that tbh, other than the differing part.
My brother's looking for it on Videobuddy xD
@anon1903 Bleh lol, Just watched the 1st film again 2014 one so good... Real deaths, fear of threat, godzilla actually needing to put effort into the fight, original created monsters that worked well not ruin established characters and we're great in there own right, Focused on radiation in the plot since that's what godzilla is about, Main character been a human who helped godzilla and actually did something, It making sense the military not trusting godzilla but even then they helped him, a good length film, Easter egg's to other monsters, great opening credits, Godzilla causing human deaths, Ah just perfection. Then you have Godzilla vs kong... just them two fight for no reason then fight a Mecha Gidorah nothing like the original established Mecha gidorah.
Independence Day: Resurgence
At first I liked it, because I'm a diehard Independence Day fan, and had been watching that movie since I was like 7. However, I really compared the two films... And it was eye opening.
What made the original Independence Day so great was the fact that it was multiple genres in one film; action and adventure, comedy, disaster, drama, horror, romance, sci-fi, you name it. It really was in that movie. And it sent an inspiring message, that humanity's true potential will only be seen when all humans unite.
ID4: Resurgence on the other hand, was just an action movie, and didn't focus as hard on the other genres like the first movie did. And it didn't emphasize the global unity message strongly enough. As for the aliens, while I love the fact they have planet-destroying technology, I feel they rushed their "resurgence" wayyyy too much. So rushed their first appearance on earth was more like an "aw shit here we go again moment" compared to the sheer dread and uncertainty you get from watching the first movie. And Jesse Usher, I respect ya but you didn't play Will Smith's son well enough. Your close encounters joke was very underwhelming. Lol
I'm assuming you're an American 'cause I remember watching Independence Day where the President gives his speech and everyone around the world is listening and they're all on their asses doing nothing and THEN after his speech they all attack and I was like "ah yes, America saves the day AGAIN".
Granted I'll give you... there will NEVER be another fucking great inspirational speech like that in action movie history. They tried to have Bill Pullman do it again but that was a once in a lifetime kind of speech.
Pacific Rim's "cancelling the apocalypse" speech came close.
Proud to be one too. And that's one of the hardest pills this generation can swallow. And it ain't even something political 🤣
i still know what you did last summer, while movies have their unbelievable, unrealistic sometimes stupid moments, this one has so many- its off the charts in stupidity
Lol right!
Hahaha😂
Almost all of them just feel like Hollywood ran out of ideas. But as bad as sequels are, the remakes of really good movies is a bigger crime than sequels.
Right! I said that as well... Take a classic and try to remake it and epic fail
@Brainsbeforebeauty exactly! I mean how many reinterpretations of “Little Women” do we need?
Lolol
@Brainsbeforebeauty thank you for MH!

Just sequels? Okay then...

Batman & Robin
Superman III
Superman IV
Independence Day: Resurgence
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
Zoolander 2
Meet the Fockers
Alien 3
Alien: Resurrection
Alien vs. Predator: Requiem
The Matrix Reloaded
The Matrix Revolution
Escape Plan 2: Hades
Taken 2
Cars 2
And those are just the ones I've personally seen.
And don't... ever... even... THINK ABOUT remaking The Princess Bride (I've heard rumors)!
Yeah I think remakes are even worse than sequels
Disney's Star Wars Sequels are really bad. The whole trilogy felt like a bunch of nine year old boys with ADHD trying to get through a game of dungeons and dragons.
(I actually liked the prequel movies though, that had a cohesive story line with actual characters)
Your description tho..😂😂
Haha thanks, it's just that trash talking those movies is fun
👍👍😊
disneys star wars are great but not as good as the originals
@Zaneprodigy
Well, if you can find enjoyment in them that's awesome! Personally, I couldn't : (
what did you dislike the most about them?
I think my biggest gripe was the lack of a clear story line. I wanted to know more about snoke but he got killed of and it was a bad consequence for the next movie. Abrams had to pull Palpatine out of nowhere (and that undoes Vader's sacrifice at the end of Return of the jedi)
ok
here is more info on snoke thro https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Snoke
Thanks bro. I'll read through it
your welcome
Most sequels are so bad that I can't even recall them.
One odd ball one that I really liked was The Sting II with Jackie Gleason, Karl Malden and Teri Garr. It wasn't a sequel, per se, but it was fun.
The sequels to Frankenstein - Bride of Frankenstein, and especially Son of Frankenstein - were top notch.
I liked Mad Max and loved the Road Warrior, but hated Thunder Dome.
Star Wars kicked ass until they made that one with ewoks. That and the one with Jar Jar Binks sucked diseased dick. They were made for children and merchandising.
There are hundreds of other rotten sequels. The majority are terrible. I honestly rarely bother.
What about Aliens and Terminator Judgment day? I thought these were the best sequels ever made
@Fromdusktilldawn. Yeah. Those were really good.
Can a remake count? I so despise the Robocop remake because the original Robocop (1987) is one of my favorite films of all time. Yet it's like if I talk to a young person, I have to constantly say 1987 now or else they might think I like the garbage remake.
Yeah the first movie was great... never saw the remake. But yeah hear you, hate when they try to remake movies like they can do it better and epic fail
I think some of the Terminator sequels as well... maybe starting from 3 onward, or I forgot since I found them very forgettable. Yet what I found so beautiful and bittersweet about the ending to the first Terminator is when Sarah Connor takes her picture at the gas station, and it turns out to be the exact same picture that Kyle Reese had (suggesting that all those struggles changed nothing about the future and that this was all destined to loop indefinitely). I think there was something in one of the newer sequels that suggested that this could be changed, and I thought that kind of took away from the bittersweet ending of the first.
... or I think I explained that poorly. I think in the newer ones, it's like they suggested that, from the future, a new parallel dimension can be opened up which completely alters the course of events. So it's like there's an infinite number of potential branches, and I found that far less poetic and thought-provoking. Whereas the original made it sound like there's only one branch, one altered kind of dimension, destined to loop back indefinitely... giving a sort of impression of futility.
Son of the Mask
Return of the Blue Lagoon
These would be two that stand out. But I rarely watch sequels unless they are highly rated by critics. I might consider a sequel if I really enjoyed a movie and it is a continuing story like the Star Wars movies. But I detest watching a movie that is nothing but a reworking of the original movie.
Yeah Remakes are even worse than sequels
Yeah like why on Earth did they remake Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? Don't get me wrong, Johnny Dep is an amazing actor but there just was no point making it again. The first one was perfect as is. Another thing that bothers me is when I'm talking someone about one of my favorite movies and they think I'm talking about the remake not realizing there was an original made twenty years earlier and I think we are talking about the original one not realizing they made a remake and neither one of us understands the opinion of the other because we're talking about two different movies with the same name. That has happened to me several times.
No poll? :) :) Kidding, ok!! YOU ROCK!! :)
I don't know, so much, if it is Sequels, but "REMAKES" that are the worst!!
Some old "Classics" should just stand, and NEVER need a remake, as it is NEVER even CLOSE to as great as the Original!!
I agree they should just leave the classics alone and quit trying to remake them
All the Disney Star Wars movies except for Rogue One.
👍👍👍
Agree! ROGUE ONE IS GREAT.
Yeah, I liked rogue one! It's just sort of sad to me that not only are the sequels not good but they damage the movies before them.
disneys star wars are great but not as good as the ogs
rogue 1 is my fav star wars movie
@Zaneprodigy When you're 13 every movie seems great.
no i have seen some trashy movies before
Aliens and predators, these movies are so weird and you won't know which sequel ia for the prequel and which prequel is for the sequel and each one has a different plot and in the end they made prometheus and alien covenant just to show how everything have started, it's so confusing and mixed, began in the late 70's i guess or mid 80's and still making sequels for it till now!
Most sequels are never as good as the first movie avid some are just horrible period
True miss brains and a sequel should be the continue of the 1st movie's plot, they say it's a sequel but the plot is totally a different story than the original one
Right!
I think the remakes are a lot worse than the sequels. The remake of grease was down right horrible. Then you have the smokey and the bandit remake. Just leave it alone. A remake will never be as good or better than the original
Oh I agree 100%
This is difficult, I'll watch sequels but I won't watch movies again and a again.
I didn't like Blade Runner 2049, it was supposed to be a good sequel. My best friend stopped talking to me after we watched it. Now I know why 😂
😂😂😂
Definitely Surf's Up 2
https://www.youtube.com/embed/QIquM5nAWUYLolol
Star wars episodes 7-9 and The Hobbit trilogy.
And frankly, I'd be happy if we just nuked hollywood and started over from scratch as far as the movie industry is concerned. I think it produces like... one film every three years that I see and enjoy.
I can't think of a sequel, but how about a show based off a movie? "Spirit: Running Free". What the hell is that shit? Spirit was an amazing movie, a beautiful mix of drawn and digital art, a unique telling about colonialism and freedom and perseverance. And it ended with Spirit winning and getting his freedom back, so why the fuck is there this garbage animation about him as some little girl's horse?
None. I'm not saying they are all good. I'm saying that it shouldn't be up to me to destroy what people created no matter how good or bad it seems. Cause some people like the stuff I don't like. Others like the stuff I don't like. So it shouldn't be up to anyone to choose.

Star wars episode 7,8,9
Independence Day: Resurgence
The original was an original to say the least. Plus it took a lot of middling actors gave them their first real success. Revived some old careers. And put Will Smith on the map.
I felt Resurgence was just a money grab. Maybe they just waited too long to make the sequel but the movie failed on so many levels.
With the exception of all the American Pie movies... ALL OF THEM.
👍👍
There are so many bad ones it's hard to choose. Maybe Basic Instinct 2.
I didn't even know there was a Basic Instict 2
Did you like the first one tho?
Transformers
The Matrix
The descent
Fast and the furious
Speed -2
XXX
Pacific Rim
My reasoning being that the sequel (or sequels) to these films do little to advance the characters or story. Further, they actually tarnish the original, by exhausting what goodwill audiences had for it the first time through.
I'd say Harry Potter 4! The Wizard tournament is all messed up!
👍👍I never saw the Harry Potter movies but my younger daughter has
I see, and did she like that movie?
I'm not sure..
True? I liked all the Harry potters up until 5. Well, I didn't actually dislike them, I just wasn't interested.
The later movies are not so well executed... when they didn't wear the uniform anymore it took away the feeling.
Can't think of a sequel but a triplet with the third Godfather
I have it on my dating profile as a question to name any trilogy in which the third film wasn't the worst one
Hangover, the aforementioned Godfather and Austin Powers at the very least
Name a trilogy where the third film isn't the worst one?
Challenge accepted sir:
-Star Trek (Abrams movies)
-Original Star Wars Trilogy
-Prequel Trilogy
-The Lord of The Rings
-Army of Darkness
-Captain America Trilogy
-I know a lot of people would say the Thor Trilogy but personally I'm in the minority of people who enjoyed The Dark World and the Iron Movies started strong and got progressively weaker
-Riddick is better than Pitch Black and WAY better than Chronicles of Riddick
-John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
-Depending on how you view the whole series as random tales of a man named Max, Mad Max: Fury Road counts
-Maybe it's because Pixar waited like 20 years to capitalize on my childhood but I cried harder during Toy Story 3's ending than any man logically should
-Mission: Impossible 3 is easily the best of the first trilogy and Mission: Impossible - Fallout is easily the best of the 2010s films and one of the best action films of all time period
-Avengers 3 flipped superhero movies on their head by not only following the Supervillain for a change but having him WIN.
@InventorofWarp How about a trilogy where the last was the best: A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More and, of course, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
Wonder Woman 84. Had trouble keeping up with it. Plot holes galore.
the last How to Train Your Dragon movie, also Scary Movie needs to be wiped from existence
Scary movie, I'd agree lol but my kids like those movies
Scary Movie was one of the best movies ever.
@Jamie05rhs lol the movies are a good painful watch now but i ruined my childhood watching them, especially the second, & they keep getting worse each time
Oh, right. We're talking about sequels. My bad.
Dumber and Dumberer... sucked a whole lot of ass!. I mean Lots..
Lolol didn't the first one suck too though? Lol
I actually don't think I saw the first all the way through
I did not like the recently made Mama Mia because the mother was not in most of the movie except as a ghost figure.
The entire Friday the 13th series was really stupid, and not very scary either.
The first one really scared me but I was a little kid when that came out
I would break out laughing while everyone else screamed. LOL
😂😂
Toy Story 4. Absolute rubbish. A disgrace to the franchise as well as the brand.
I didn't see it
@Brainsbeforebeauty Consider yourself blessed.
Lol 🙏ok😊
The Lost Boys: The Tribe.
The original one they had the 2nd one written, but Warner Bros didn’t feel like they wanted to make another one. That last scene where David got impaled. Apparently, he didn’t die.
Do the new star wars movies count? Then all 3 of the Disney movies. They were an insult to the franchise.
That one's been said a lot so others must agree
where to start
Top Gun 2
Terminator Dark Fate
Star Wars 7,8,9
Batman Forever
Batman & Robin
Mortal Kombat 2
Spider-Man with Toby McGuire
Avengers Age of Ultron
The reboot and remake of Nightmare on Elm Street
Halloween remake
Superman 3
Rocky 3, Rocky Balboa, Creed, Creed II
Transformers 2-all of them
Chucky remake
American Pie 2, American Band Camp, and whatever American Band Camp movies after
Paranormal activity prequel to sequel should have left well enough alone ✌️
Exactly ✌️
They only get better with each installment
@TwoToTooTutu2 When it comes to movies I love Jaws & I love twister so if you put them together you have Sharknado & I couldn’t even make it through 15 minutes of the first movie. I’ll have to try again & challenge myself to watch all of them. How many Sharknado movies are there?
Star Wars episode 7-9
Predator (2018)
Terminator Genysis and Dark Fate
The Mummy (2017)
Independence day 2
Wrong Turn 3-6
Jaws 3D
Titanic 2
Mulan remake
The Grudge Remake
Sequel to "Silence of the lambs". It was called "Hannibal"!
Yeah think I saw part of it
Do you know the movie Split, the director ruined that movie with a sequel Glass.
It'll be cool not to have seen that😅
Saw movies you can add scary movies to that list to
I didn't see the saw movies.. but yeah some those Scary Movie Movies yeah agree
Alien 3, and consequencially Alien Resurrection. (also Prometheus and Alien covenant, prequels I know, but still)
Star Wars The Last Jedi (Ep. 8), such a disjointed disaster.
Cinderella 2
But I didn't know there was a jaws 2 lol
Les Visiteurs 2
Everything after Tremors 1
Indiana Jones 4
Die Hard 5
Crank 2
👍👍
Oh, I forgot Machette Kills. That was a bad one
If I could only pick 1, episode 9 of Star Wars. Episode 8 was bad, but episode 9 did not respect any of the previous canon.
Ghostbusters.
And let's throw in a new TV reboot- MacGyver - blech!!! Glad it got canned.
Mask was so good and fun to watch so then when SON OF THE MASK came out go figure what were they thinking bad bad bad
episode 9 of Star Wars
Jaws 3D
Tremors sequels
Ghostbusters remake was mostly devoid of humor
Caddyshack 2
Fast N Furious has gotten out of control. Taken on a life of its own. Ridiculous.
Fast and furious the 1st one great 2 nd okay. The rest just stupid and lacked story line. The rest was tits, ass and cars
Son of the mask
Way too cringe and its absolutely terrible
Terminator 3. The first two were good films. The rest of the franchise hasn't been great. They shpuld have stopped after judgement day
Both sequals to the Matrix.
👍👍
Did you see Equilibrium with Christian Bale and the "gun-kata"? I thought that one was cool... kind of cheesy but it works! Thankfully they didn't turn it into a franchise with sequels and beat the idea to death:
https://youtu.be/jvIwGEa6oXg
Exorcist 2
I have no words. It's that bad.
Really? Never seen it... The first one really creeped me out when I was a kid tho
Just skip it. Trust me. Exorcist 3 with George C Scott is actually much better. Not as good as the first, but light years better than 2.
Chipmunks 2. Also Finding Dory
Saw chipmunks 2 never saw finding Dory
yeah i didn't like finding dory dat much
@Zaneprodigy Finding Dory was so bad it cost Ellen her show
Probably every other indian movie, there are few exceptions though
Spider man. And the Hulk.
Hey now... I like the matrix sequels... at least I didn't hate them
Jarhead 2. Complete crap.
Pearl Harbor from Michael Bay
Pitch Perfect III!
Didn't see it.. I only saw the first one
The second one was the best. The third one is terrible!
Harry Potter and Twilight
ALL of them
👍👍👍
All but Jaws 2. It was good in my opinion
Fargo it was listed as a drama and comedy
You can also add your opinion below!
