Rocky is the best! I keep coming back to Rocky when trying to pick out favorites. I think Rocky embodies pure fighting spirit as a slugger. "Fu-Fu-Fuuaaaah!" Close quarters, "in-boxing", hard-puncher. He drives all his fighting spirit with the punch. Then Apollo is ou-tboxer, "Shh-shh-shh-sha!" Combos. Skill vs fighting spirit.

#1 and #2 and sorta #3. Everything after is shit. #3 is only good because it is stressing the relationship between Miyagi and Daniel and because Terry Silver is badass. #1 is like epic 80s nostalgia. #2 is like an epic (fake but nice) cultural thing with Okinawa. And #3 is Terry Silver.

The problem in my opinion is that Karate Kid 2 should have been 3 if they wanted to make a third one. #2 would have been perfect to stress the relationship between Daniel and Miyagi while still doing a tournament fight. Then #3 could be Okinawa where Daniel has to fight to the death. #3 should have been #2 and #2 should have been #3.
