Have nice guys/incels ruined fedoras?

I'm asking as a man who isn't a nice guy, but likes fedoras. By now, I'm sure you know what a "Nice Guy" or "Incel" is. And if you don't, the photo below probably sums it up.

Anyways, the reason why I like fedoras is because I was a bit of a horror movie enthusiast back in middle through high school. I LOVED horror movies, and I remember spending a good chunk of my senior year watching all of the SAW movies, over and over.

By far, my favorite horror movie franchise was A Nightmare on Elm Street. And who's the main villain of those movies? Freddy Krueger. And as you can see below, he wears a fedora.

I actually liked fedoras because they remind me of Freddy, and how sadistic he was in his movies. I LOVED seeing him torment and dismember his victims after making a good one-liner.

Now I don't own any fedoras, but if I did decide to get one, I don't think I'd be able to wear one without being lumped in the same category as incels.

I'm not an incel. I'm not a white knight. I'm not a Nice Guy. But I'm pretty sure that my favorite hat is ruined because of those crappy men, just like how the name "Karen" has been ruined by idiotic white women.

Have fedoras' reputations been ruined because of Nice Guys/Incels/white knights, or are they still a cool hat to have--especially because of Freddy Krueger?
