What Was The Last Song That Made You Cry?

I am so sorry, my beautiful friend. My heart broke when I read your words. I understand why that song would effect you so deeply.
Music can definitely have an emotional effect on me. The most recent song, though, was the following.
I shared a question a couple weeks ago asking people to share a song that they found meaningful/socially inspiring. At the time, I was feeling a bit depressed about how divided this country is.
abc3643 shared a couple songs. One was:
It hit me kind of hard. I had forgotten all about it. It was the perfect answer to my question. I have to admit that my heart swelled and I misted up.
I was still a kid in Catholic grammar school when this stuff was happening, but I remember good hearted, progressive nuns and a priest who were young and inspired by the changes that were taking place.
When I started 10 grade in high school in 1969, one of the groups I fell in with was the "hippie clique". We were too young to be real hippies. That era had passed. But we were all about the civil rights movement, women's rights, peace and love. We were full of hope for the future. What happened?
When I saw the video I thought, these were my people. And this song expressed my wishes for humanity.

AVE MARIA - WHICH IS A 'PIECE' AS WELL AS HAVING LYRICS. A MOST BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF MUSIC, and to hear it played by - Anastasiya Petryshak is a time not easily forgotton
Despite being one of the worldâs favourite settings of âAve Mariaâ, Schubert never actually wrote a piece called âAve Mariaâ.
Schubertâs music was actually called âEllens dritter Gesangâ, which translates as âEllenâs Third Songâ. He wrote it in 1825, aged 28, to the words of Sir Walter Scottâs epic poem The Lady of the Lake. The song does contain the words âAve Mariaâ, but only in reference to the prayer itself.
Now one of Schubertâs most popular works, âAve Mariaâ has been recorded by numerous artists, with lyrics that largely differ from the original poem.
Andrea Bocelli, Maria Callas and Celine Dion have all recorded beautiful versions, as has the inimitable Luciano Pavarotti:
My goal for my violin is to be able to play this piece to a piano accompaniment.
"BRAINS' perhaps you could accompany me on the piano, and sing as well? Thank you for asking. Watch Anastasiya on YouTube. You may tear up too !
Well thanks for the invite, but I can't sing and not much of a piano player either lolol
This is a song that if I don't skip past it within those first few keystrokes on the piano, I will be bawling my eyes out. And that's what happening this morning when I was cleaning up. Couldn't get to my phone fast enough and so I just sat on the floor and cried my eyes out. My little cousin was killed 2 years ago the week before Thanksgiving and this song just shatters me every time I hear it. I thought I had all the time in the world with him.
đđ now I'm crying.. But truth be told I been weepy all morning.. But know how you feel. Both bout your cousin and also not having control over how a song or lyrics can take you to a painful memory in a moment with no notice. I mean I never even heard that song by Imagine Dragons before and didn't even know i who sang it till it came on radio again last night. Just know I was headed to work not thinking bout anything but getting through the work day, that song came on and I couldn't control the sobbing that came over me. I'm lucky I didn't get into an accident, as it was dark out, I was traveling at high speed (somewhat legal limit lol) and then my glasses fogged up from the cryingđ€Š... I know you believe in God, so then I know you believe you'll see your cousin again some day I also know knowing that that doesn't always make it easier in the here and now...đđđ€
Yeah I've had to hold onto my faith extra tight since then because I'll never understand it. But it's not for us to understand. And grief is tricky and there's no limit on it. I also know you just had a death anniversary of your own pass. So lots of feelings floating around. Just maybe pull over next time. Your girls and grandson need you đđŸ
Thanksđđ€ kinda hard to pull over on the freeway though.. If was on regular City Street I probably would have
Against All Odds by Phill Collins (okay first, my parents raised me on 80s music and movies) but when I was driving my jeep up to college, it came on the radio, and I immediately thought about Lee and breaking up with him after more than a year together! I did want to break up, he didnât do anything wrong, but I just felt that the long distance thing would never work out! It definitely made me cry!

@GaGirls yeah, it really is! Thereâs great music from the 50âs, 60âs, and 70âs too, but I honestly think that the 80âs was the best and, the quality of music really went down beginning in the 1990s.
@Brainsbeforebeauty Thanks sweetie. đđ

Well, crying for me these days is just getting choked up...
But listening to "Slave Knight Gael" from the Dark Souls 3 soundtrack had that effect on me. Dark Souls is a series of games dear to me... my profile pic and background has been from the game and I've never changed it. And I suppose it's because for me it's the last vestige of art and beauty in a world obsessed with sex, drugs, and money. Dark Souls was always good for the sake of being good, subtle for the sake only being noticed by those who cared enough to look... Slave Knight Gael is the last challenge you face in the series, and he's worthy of the position. An enslaved immortal undead forced to fight for centuries... he follows you to the end of the world to obtain The Dark Soul in order help his lady paint a new world. Consuming the Dark Soul drives him mad, and in killing him you use his blood as pigment for the painting. He fights with fervor, empowered by the Dark Soul. You fight in a barren, sandy wasteland, lightning is striking everywhere, he's shooting red stuff from his cloak, and the music makes it all the more dramatic. It just is an epic culmination of beauty... and I know it may sound petty to someone who doesn't really understand... but it's one of the few things that makes me feel good, and that's what the song represents when I hear it.
I haven't played a game in years but I imagine it's a buzz in the context of the game!
@EnglishEuropean Yes, the song itself is pretty great too, the context just enhances it.

I was out for a long walk outside, and two women, evidently heading in the same direction, were walking ahead of me, while they listened to some tunes from an MP3 player (or phone; I couldn't see). One of them (the one whose player it was, I gather) said "Oh, this is a good song- my brother used it at his wedding, for the mother-son dance. It's from Dumbo." And my ears perked up, because I hear "song from Dumbo", I think "Pink elephants on parade" which is really NOT a wedding song. Needless to say, it wasn't; it was "Baby mine", which got me thinking of my mother, and I had to walk away and go sit down for a while.
Stupid death.
That song always made me and my daughter cry
🥀Dancing in the sky-Danni and Lizzi 🥀
They had played this song at my little sister's funeral and all I can think when listening to this song is my little sister Lilly. She was five years old, my only sibling she was born with some kind of cancer I don't remember what it was called. She was my best friend and it has really been hard without her, but everyone else has tried to forget about her besides me. She meant the world to me the most if I could do anything in the world it would be with my little sister. FLY HIGH LITTLE SISTER<3 RIP Lilly Ann Garcia💔😭
I'm so sorry for your lossđ trading this brought tears to my eyes.. we never forget the ones we love... And they live on in our hearts and memoriesđđ€
*reading this
Thank you and yeah she was really amazing to me since she's been gone things haven't been the same.
I understand completely
Thank youđ

This song, makes me cry like a waterfall
Its such a sad song about child abuse. It tells a story about a little child writting a letter to Jesus. She tells her story about other children being beaten and tells about her story about being beaten.
I'm getting teary eyed just telling you about the song
The song hits too close to my real childhood life and to painfull to hear it in full
Yeah I remember you made a post about that since and that song makes me cry too
Last song I cried to was Red Hot Chili Peppers song 'Under the Bridge'
I know the song is about drug use but I relate it to the times I lived close to my dad but had to move far from him. It was our jam for car cruising and road trips. You're right, the car is a great place for a break down.
"Take me to the place I loooove"
"Take me all the way"
"I don't ever want to feeeeel"
"Like I did that day"
Not when you driving it's not lol
True, actually. Maybe get home first lol
It may be an oldie from the early '70s by Ringo Starr, off his 1973 'RINGO' album called 'Photograph' I can't help but every time I hear that song, I weep like a baby.
It makes me think of the people I knew and lost, my parents, my brother, a next-door neighbor girl,
and celebrities I grew up listening to and watching, knowing that they won't be back again.
Makes me lose it. This has got to be the saddest song ever recorded. give it a listen, crying will do your heart some good.
I've cried enough today, but I'll give it a listenđ lol
The only one and only when I was younger because my dad lied to me and said it really happened lol... what a troll. But it was Pearl Jam Last Kiss. Dont get me wrong it's a heart breaking song and it does happen. But my dad told me this guy sang it about his wife which hit me harder feeling so sorry for him. Dad laughed after and I punched him in the arm.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/4447lT5GQOkthe only other song/music that made me feel sad like that was the Jurassic Park original theme because I made a special last video in tribute to my grandfather for his funeral. Still have it to. Will share in PM if you're interested but not for all prying eyes to see.
I recently found this song and it always makes me cry because it describes how I feel about a friend of mine.

Thanks đ
Karen Carpenter song Rainy Days and Mondays, If you listen to the lyrics
it makes me cry cause I went on diet also no one knew that I had an eating
disorder I went on a strict diet and I think my late Mom knew
Moms know everything lol
@Brainsbeforebeauty Yeah, I suffer with lot health problems all cause
of strict diet
Sorry to hear that
Wow- what a powerful piece!
Definitely one that will need tissues.
Mine was "Claire de Lune" by Debussey.
It was one of my mom's favorites (she was a near-concert quality pianist when she was younger).
đ€đ€
I don't remember the name of the song but it was about this woman wanting one last dance with her daddy before he died.
Then theirs the Christmas song called "Christmas shoes".
Oh yeah the Christmas shoes song gets me every timeđ
There was a movie about it? Where've I been
I'm sure I would of too
Well now it's also the last song that made me đ
Just recently the wife and I saw The Monkees Farewell Tour. The encore included "Daydream Believer" and I don't think there was a dry eye anywhere in the audience of a packed arena.
That must of been an awesome experience
Now I only cry to happy songs because I am that I am.
Because of my unhealthy obsession with fictional characters that this kdrama feeds.
I can't remember tbh. It can be songs about love or feeling unlovable, friendship, happiness and things like that and they could instantly turn me from happy to crying and I hate that I don't understand why
Because sometimes those songs trigger emotions we try to suppress..
That makes sense I guess yeah. How did I not think of that.
Because you're a man and men aren't supposed to have emotions or admit to them-I hope you know that's sarcasm because I think it's so stupid when people say that. We're ALL human, we all have emotions, and it's not weak or less manly of a man cries
Yeah I sometimes know that's true other times. its harder to accept because of how messed up society is. And my best friend she's always been kind when I've cried in front of her.
Glad you have a supportive friendđ
Yeah it's good. It took a while before I even accepted it's okay to. And she helped with that. I still get embarrsed tho. Especially like my last birthday when I cried a fair amount on her shoulder.
But till society changes so that emotions and that are accepted and even things like it being expected that guys approach girls..
I don't remember what the song was but it was sung at the end of my mother's funeral and then I broke down in tears.
Sorry for your lossđđđ€
I know how you feel. It's been 8 years since my husband died, and I think I'm doing better with it, then something like that song triggers an emotion and I realize I guess I'm not
I know that in my head, my heart doesn't always get it
Hold on - Extreme music
This song really touched me, I was really depressed that day.
Helped me when I hadn't hope anymore.
@GaGirls One thing you'll discover is the memory tends to fade as we age. Though I have no problem processing information, remembering specifics can be challenging. A little hint, and I'm there, but taking the first step is the challenge.
There are many songs from my past that bring back memories when I hear them, but it's more of a deja vu experience or a scent that brings you back to a past memory. There were the silly ones (like Witchdoctor, Yellow Polka Dot Bikini and Purple People Eater) and ones that triggered deep emotions (like these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh4se9YMV3A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aN85vc8DMWQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-vYuV3OmhE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJlgio-UOng)
The first song that had significant impact was one my dad shared with me (and I still have it on 78RPM... I know, you've never heard of 78s) is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9KVq4pJGWM
There are too many songs that impacted my life to list them all. Everyone has special moments that are brought back to us whenever we revisit these songs.
Here is another link to the one that didn't work in my last post:

this just makes me cry, I am not sure why.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/kPhpHvnnn0QProbably, "Hold Me, My Daddy" by XTC. Before that it was, "All Good Things" by Klaatu and before that, "Last Rendezvous" by Jean-Michel Jarre.
Media doesn't make me cry. But this song recently made me tear up as I was watching the hunger games. Specifically the part at 3:46
https://www.youtube.com/embed/uhWEcVkOUoYDrive Home - Steven Wilson
https://www.youtube.com/embed/ycYewhiaVBkI mean up until today I'd never heard this song... but try and deny it didn't make you laugh (even a little bit lol).
It says video unavailable
Hurt really that's the only song that has ever made me cry.
Only the Johnny Cash version really counts there!

@Curmudgeon Most sad song I ever heard. I use to listen to this when I was sad. God I wish I wrote it because I understand it.

That's what I figured.
Yeah I'm known for my typos.. The worst was penis butter when meant peanut butterđđ€Šđ€Ł
That's not a typo, that's a Freudian slip. lol
They won't let me open the music was the name of the band are the song and I'm sorry to hear about your husband. I would like to listen to the song
Imagine Dragon "Wrecked"
very different situation... same emotions.
Raining Blood by Slayer

đđ beautiful song.. Or I'm just weepy cuz didn't sleep for shit and my mind wandering to places I don't want to be right now
Don't cry spongy forehead, i know how hard it is to think about a loved one who passed away, it hurts a lot but your king had taught you how to see things from the bright side and i'm sure that you don't want your husband to see you sad from where he is now đ
We all have our sad moments but we need to overcome it and cheer ourselves again, for example i'm happy because the spongy forehead ain't a fiction person, she's real đ
Too real.. Wish I was fiction lol
I heard your song miss brains muffins and yes it's very sad and heart touching but as you can see after all this pain and all these negative feelings,. he ended it with this quote "i'll see you again my loved one" remember those words đ
He got in his life what other real men dreams to have which is real love and a real lady, you gave him the ultimate happiness and maybe you received the same, just think about how many people in this world wishes to have what you both had and they died and never got it...
Be always thankfull for each moment you had in your life and in the end we will all meet again đ
I know... And I try.. Just one more thing I fail at đ€·
Your aren't failing at all spongy forehead especially when you make that colgate smile đ
Maybe your spongy forehead needs to be bitten more cause it's making you naughtier đŹđŹ
The sasquatch's sore feet's nightmare is when it snows, you will see a big angry spongy forehead behind the window waiting to come out and destroys all the snowmen built by the children in the hood using her lethal shovel đ
When miss brains attacks the snowmen, she starts screaming like that ti destroy it đ€Łđ€Ł

I don't cry I'm not a baby
Neither are people who let their emotions out. . That's more strength than people too afraid to show emotion for fear of being labeled unmanly, weak, or a "baby" ..
Good for you then
