Honestly I like most music from so many genres. I enjoyed today's music as well things from Pitbull Shakira Beyoncé Elvis Crespo etc
One of the oldest songs I like is called sing sing sing (with a swing) by benny Goodman
So it leads me to also love musical movies like moulin rouge or burlesque with Christina Aguilera
I can't be tied to one type of music. I love the past as much as the current music of today.00 Reply

+1 yReally hard to say, as all decades had great but also terrible music. I'm not huge on the 70s. 60s maybe a bit more. I really like a lot of the stuff from the 80s. The 90s had great alternative rock music, but also a lot of complete trash. The 2000s are my least favorite decade in terms of mainstream music, but there were many many gems in underground music. 2010s had a lot of music that means a lot to me, so I guess I'll pick the 2010s.
Worst time in music to me was late 90s and early 2000s. Just awful.00 Reply

I was watching American Graffiti over the weekend and thought about the soundtrack. I'm an Eisenhower baby so I don't really remember the 50s, but I do remember the 60s forward. I think almost everybody can look back to their teens and smile thinking about a hit song. Here are three from my 16th year!

All the decades had catchy tunes.
All the decades had annoying music.
All the decades had bad music.

u +1 yIt depends on the genre, but as far as lyrical content and themes go, it's been garbage for decades. However, if we're talking skill, creativity, production, and musicianship, I'd say rock from the mid-late 1970s through the early-mid 1990s (minus glam-hair metal).

+1 yI think most decades have high spots and low spots, there is a lot of reinvention going on. Previous genre will provide influence to the next.
i can’t really pick one as I like a wide variation of music from Goth, Rock to House, dance and Indie00 Reply876 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. Some 80s going through about 2012. Most music before that time does nothing for me, most music after that time is just either earlier artists beating a dead horse or copycats mimicking older bands. Every now and then a few rock singles slip through that I like, but that's about it.
Some exceptions to earlier music are old time jazz, classical orchestra, and some of the 1930s-50s lounge music, which are all situationally good to listen to.00 ReplyIf you asked for just one I’d say the 70’s
Two, I’d say 70’s and 90’s
Three, my answer is 60’s, 70’s and 90’s
Finally FOUR would include all of above plus the 80’s. I know we make fun of the fashion during that time, but the music was really cool. Sometimes overshadowed00 Reply

+1 yAll the people saying 90s is hillarious :D
80s, then 70s. Pretty much everything else is garbage. There were a few decent bands otherwise but not much comes to mind.
Today the only good stuff is deep house / chill, but it doesn't compare to 70s-80s rock and pop at all.00 Reply

+1 yThe 1960s, with the Beatles, British Invasion, and several movie themes, are the decade with the best music, followed closely by the 1950s (beginning of rock and roll, plus love ballads) and the 1970s.

+1 y80’s, some of the 90’s and the 2000’s. Since the 2010’s most of the popular music I find just bland and boring. Even rock and metal which I used to really enjoy just sounds so generic. It’s rare when I find a good album.
00 ReplyFor pop music
definitely the
1920s
1980s and
1970s.
The worst is the
1990s
in terms of what music actually got popular.
And honestly, the
1950s
was often pretty silly and dumbed down.00 Reply410 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. 70s, 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. There are the occasional good few songs that pop up but most of it isn't very good these days.
