Do you think celebs owe their fans or followers for their success?

I mean all these celebs choose acting as their profession when they decide to do something for a living in their lives, they did not choose to become a doctor, enginner, police, cook, etc, they choose to be actors even if they could find another carreer to pursue and not be known in future years. Some celebs inherited directly the acting bug from their parents who were also actors so they were surrounded by taht environment and they choose that was the career they want, even if they could choose another totally different.

But most celebs when asked what they did want to become when they were little, most of them responded the same: ! I always wanted to become an actor/actress", really that was their only profession they had in mind at such at young age or at least when they were teenagers? So when these celebs are very successful locally and international and go to movie premiers events, parties here and there and photographers all around them taking pictures here and there. I mean acting comes with a hig price to a known person (loose of privacy, stalkers here and there, fans chasing them) Of course these celebs are very aware that is the price of fame, that is the price of choosing a career where their faces will be plaster everywhere in public and be known by the whole world.

So if people like us, dont go to the movies to watch their jobs on screen, do not follow them on social media, do not buy products related to their movies or themselves, they won't earn their own salaries (unless besides acting you know how to do other stuff in case you are no longer an actor, like Gene Hackman, he retired from acting many years ago to dedicate himself to write books and now he is just like any mortal (hehe!!), the studios do not earn money to pay their hefty salaries.

SO my question is what if noone goes to watch any movies or do not follow their jobs on TV or big screen?

These celebs won't be successful, they wotn be earning the hideous salaries they earn and also wotn be taht famous, because we ourselves are the ones who put them on a pedestal by following them, so if it was not for us they wotn be popular, famous or earn the salaries. They choose acting as their profession in order to be seen and be recognized around the globe, right?

So you think celebs owe the fans thanks for their successful careers and treat fans better and not act all this cocky and stuck up when they ran into fans. They wanted to becoem entertainers and be seen and popular right? Or all celebs act for the big love they have for acting but not because they will earn lots of money off their careers? Who acts out of love and not for the money? No celeb I believe , even the most down to earth, humble one.

Well some celebs do bust their butt to get where they are. Also given how warped people are they have to live under a microscope and deal with people who have zero idea of what boundaries are. Also like any other job, no one is really entitled to the fruits of your labor. You are not entitled to a loaf of bread from a baker simply because you feel you are. The same goes for some A hole hounding you for a picture or autograph at the air port. But some people don't seem to get that.

Also you don't have to listen a musicians music or watch a actors movies. That's a choice you make yourself. So you can't play you owe me card because you made the choice to listen to it or watch it. Because you have free will and could have decided not to do so. If anything feeling like they owe you something is a false sense of entitlement and screams "I'll demand you sign something and take picture at the air port despite you just getting off a 15 hour flight." All because you think that you being a fan entitles you to that.

Why people choose to go into performce arts is a mixed bag by degrees. The primary is that literally no one gets up in front of others and screams "look at me" without having a bit of an oversized ego. There's a bit of courage as you may face total rejection... then there's the 3 major motivators that occur in every possible percentage mix. 1. Love of the art form. 2. notoriety 3. wealth
Honestly though whatever the motivation and reward there can be no success for the performer without the appreciation of the audience. They are literally the reason to perform.

I Agree 100%.. I have always said the EXACT same thing…if it wasn’t for us fans then they wouldn’t have that glamorous and rich life style , and I think that some stars get so caught up in there own lives that they like to forget that without us fans then they wouldn’t be where they are today

Yes, without fans/supporters to watch their films or listen to their music, they wouldn't have gotten anywhere. They wouldn't be celebrity or in the entertainment business.

The Weeknd gave you songs and performances and you in return gave him money or fandom. That's business not a hand out. He doesn't owe us shit else. He is providing MASSIVE service and products for people everywhere. HE DOESN'T OWE US SHIT MORE. He clearly earned your fandom with his product (songs) that brought joy and entertainment to your life. And those songs can be used FOREVER.

I only read the question and so I don't know your stance on this but to answer the question; It goes both ways. That's my point. There is no such thing as something for nothing. If Walmart and every store like Walmart including amazon disappeared... We would stop receiving the wonderful service and products that we love. At the very least we wouldn't be able to use that service anymore. Same If nobody watches a movie then there is no trade happening. The point is people aren't fans or buying tickets for no reason. It's a trade. Many celebs offer MASSIVE service or product. NBA players entertain millions of people. That is so much service they are providing collectively as a league. They earn their lifestyle. They are serving more people than the average person ever will and that is why they are rich and even famous. It's that simple. If anyone want a better life figure out how to service more people. That's the big secret. The people who serve the most, get the most. Same as the golden rule because both cases are founded on the law of cause and effect.

They should be very appreciative that’s all they owe really is just appreciation a big thank you to the public for supporting their careers and coming out and giving them what they want so they can continue on in their careers and make more new movies.
