I'm of course referring specifically to films and TV shows, and not novels. I can't even remember the last time I watched a science-fiction film that was actually interesting, or insightful, or just believable. I liked the film 'Solis' (image above) and 'Gravity' was good too, even though, strictly speaking, it wasn't 'science-fiction', because everything depicted in it is actually real now, and so the category would be 'drama' instead. I thought 'Interstellar' was lame and far-fetched, even though it looked impressive at first glance. 'Solis' seemed to me to be set in the very same universe as another movie, 'Sunshine'. It had a very similar "feel" to it.

I'll probably receive some flak for my comment about 'Interstellar', because apparently it's a very popular film, and those who like it are very defensive about it.
