Do you believe that a song can have feeling even if the singer does not sing with feelings? Instead he/she is just really focused on the scales?

Playback singers are people like us. They get their hearts broken, among other things.

So it got me thinking, if they are singing a song they don't believe in, and still are able to get the required feelings in the song, does that mean they are just really concentrating on the scale variations while singing?

Or are they really trying to put those feeling they don't have or left intentionally?

No you have to understand the lyrics. It's what separates good singers from technical ones even if they don't always hit the right notes.

I think everybody understands the lyrics when singing them in studios.

What I mean is if your singing a song say about a break up you have to sing it like your in that situation. The problem with a lot of top singers is they're too eager to show off their singing range they fail to express the idea behind the song. You might as well get a chatbot to sing it.

Ohh. Got it. They try to highlight themselves rather than adjust for the song. Even actors fall prey to this lol. People remember the actor, not the role, in such cases.

Yes, absolutely music can affect you through waves of emotion depending on the singer that’s why so many songs has been re-done so many times with different inflections and tones one song could it be sung at a lower range and sound depressing afraid range be lyrics you would’ve never guessed it was about God or somebody this person may have loved

I often listen to the lyrics of a song. I try to find out exactly what the songwriter is trying to say.

I don't personally prescribe to this notion that music has to have "feelings.". Music is music. I can interpret my own feelings by listening to it. Or not.

A song can be seen as a catalyst. Something different people can put feelings into while singing.
