Have you ever walked out of a movie, and why?

When I was a teenager me and my cousins walked out of Walk Hard, the Dewey Cox Story for being extremely sexually graphic according to my cousins.

I however did walk out of Harold and Kumar Christmas for a scene involving Jesus and naked ladies, which at the time I was still somewhat religious. I never had a big problem with raunchy comedy but something about that scene just didn't hit right.

Once, when my aunt took me to a movie when I was like 12. The main character of the movie started getting banged out in a public bathroom stall, and my aunt was like “ok, we’re leaving, you can’t see this movie”, lmao. I wasn’t mad, the movie sucked and I had no interest in it.

I remember when I saw the Bruno movie from Sascha Baron Cohen a few people walked out at different points. I guess it had some extreme stuff compared to the HBO show, but I was a little surprised people walked out. They must just not have known the character or the nature of the movie and they were just shocked. I’m just like “it’s Bruno, why did you come if gay stuff bugs you out?” Some people walked out early, when Bruno was on all fours getting his balloon knot pummeled by a dildo on some kind of moving rod powered by a midget pedaling a stationary bike😱😂 Then there was a part when his penis talked, via special effects, and his pee-hole operated as a mouth. Definitely jarring to see, lmao, but it’s a comedy movie, just cringe like you’re supposed to and move onto the next joke.

No- I paid for the ticket, after all; I can just wince my way through uncomfortable moments and wait for the nasty bits to pass.

I DO have an even stupider story, though- I saw A History of Violence in theaters (which is noteworthy for being the very last movie released on Laserdisc, if nothing else), and one of the previews was for Brokeback Mountain, and a good fifth of the theater got up and walked out. Over a preview.

I walked out on the black swan cause it seemed really scary and the movie guys told me they had a rule if you walk out within the first 14-40 minutes of your movie, they refund your money. I did not know that until I walked out. I also walked out of a chain saw movie my friend wanted to see but I think in that case, I just walked into a different room where a different movie was playing since the rooms were all next to each other. I thought that since the movies all cost the same and I already paid for my ticket so why not see something else.

I did once because it was so lame and no one was even laughing at their jokes. The whole theatre was silent and my friends made me watch that movie when I wanted to watch something else instead. So, after almost watching the first half, I told them to get up and join me or I'm going back home alone... It was THAT unbearable.

I did because my phone kept on vibrating in my pocket.

My mom kept calling but I responded via texting her while my screen was dimmed.

She didn't text back although my phone indicated that my texts were read by her.

So, I walked out to find out why I kept getting called by my mom.

I thought there was an emergency but there was no urgency at all.

That certainly spoiled our mood to finish the movie.

A few movies come to mind that I walked out of. Jurassic Park Dominion, at the second hour I couldn't take anymore as the movie was terrible and boring.

Justice League, took my nephew who was 9 at the time. He found it boring during the second hour and wanted to go eat instead so we walked out. Had a restaurant near the movie theater that wasn't packed.

Poseidon, my mom wanted to see this cause of Kurt Russell. It so boring that I walked out the part where they were looking a way out of the ship. Ended up going back inside after using the bathroom. I could have slept through the movie as it was long.

I took a date to see King Solomon's Mines in the mid-80s, which co-starred an unknown named Sharon Stone. But the movie was terrible - like a no-budget student film, so we walked out and told management, and they were fine with us seeing a different movie. I don't remember what movie that was, but it was definitely better than King Solomon's Mines.

Raiders of the Lost Ark inspired a number of adventure movies, but that one was a real stinker.

I wanted to walk out of the first Hobbit movie as I was so bored, but to my surprise that was just when the first part ended. So I had actually lasted through the whole thing including when the dwarves were singing.

My girlfriend made us walk out of a horror movie, Mulholland Drive, like ten minutes into the movie as she was too scared. I should watch it now, I don't even know what it was about.

I walked out of Jackass 4 after just the first stunt, when they were pouting hot sauce in their ass holes, then they shoved Popsicles up there to cool it down and Dave England ate his!

One of my female co-workers saw the whole thing and said it was really graphic. I probably won't be watching that one
