I've always rated my singing skills as being quite low, but something happened a few years ago that I found to be both strange and wonderful.
I was engaged over some months in a professional relationship with a lovely 25-year-old woman who I must admit, I found to be very attractive on a number of different levels, and she me. I'm confident in that belief. She told me as much. I was 61-ish at the time.
I had occasion to play the guitar for her and she asked me if I could sing. I laughed and said, "No". She told me to try to sing for her. Okayyyy... I started singing and actually sounded quite good to myself. She gave an exclamation of joy and applauded my efforts.
Wow, I said to myself, the things a man is capable of when the appreciation of a woman is on the line.
We've since parted ways. Our time together had reached its end.
I'll never forget her.
Maybe a 9. I've been told I was good, but when I was in high school, I joined the chorus. Then I was in a church choir. Plus, I played music in a high school band and in concert band, so I have a little practice with music. I have social anxiety, so I used to get stage fright, and sometimes I used to have to get a couple cocktails in before performing ::Shhhh:: You didn't hear that!
Like 4? I sound terrible. I’m a below average bathroom singer 😂
My mom just asks me to shut up whenever I start singing lmao. I enjoy music and singing along to songs though. My terrible voice control doesn’t deter me from singing! 😅
I can shatter glass with my voice. That's how bad it is.

I'd give myself a 10 on 10 for sure.
3 or 4, definitely below average for most songs. I can do certain songs really well like I've Got You Under my Skin by Frank Sinatra.

At the moment my singing voice is around a 3 out of 10, I once sang in singing competitions until Puberty when my voice broke, and it never went back together.
Right now probably pretty low. I was in choir back when I was in school. But I only sing in the car really. Maybe the occasional karaoke. I wouldn't imagine I sound very polished anymore.😂
Whether I was good or not is debateable.😂 Our choir director was a real perfectionist. He made magic with our high school band. That's what impressed me. I've listened to other high school's bands and most aren't very good. I always loved when they'd perform a damn near flawless version of the Star Wars theme song every year. I started playing both the Trombone and drums in Jr. High but I washed out of that pretty quick.
I'm sure you're a better singer than you think you are. And if not. Hey, none of us are getting signed to record contracts.😂 so sing that sing like you OWN it!
Probably around a 7.5 maybe an 8.5 on a good day with the right song

I sing in the shower, I scare the water & I guarantee if I were to sing in front of deaf people someone would throw a tomato or something at me.
7. I have a good range (about the same as Paul McCartney in his prime) and control, but I am more suited to harmony or duets as I do not have the unique "it" quality vocally.

In my youth I sang as a performer. People even paid to see the group I was part of.
I've not sung regularly for a while but I'd say if I had a couple of weeks to practice I'd hope I'd be a solid 8

When I have my headphones on, I sound great but then I take them off and I'm a voice cracking mess. 😅

No, I never heard it. My voice? Oh, I cringe when I hear my voice in call recordings and voice recording. My youngest brother would tease me A LOT when we were teens and he'd just record my voice and play it near my ears just to annoy me! I'd go running after himz trying to kick his butt while he went "Hehehe!" 🤣🤣🤣
But when it comes to singing, I was told by my best friend and ex that I sing really good and my voice sounds lovely but I thought they were just being kind because they love me, lol. Over the years I realised I do sound good when I sing and can hit notes, lol. So, I think my voice is good for singing but I wonder how do people even put up with my voice especially since I'm talkative.

If you can hit the notes, that's awesome! I'd there's nothing wrong with being a little talkative. I have friends who are like that and I don't really mind it.

I mean my voice sounds more perfect for those kind of ones but I'm versatile now. I can finally sing good after sounding like a crow cawing for few years when I first started singing. 🤣
m Let's just say I tried to have deep voice and said "Yo, yo, yo... man, man, man" many times even though my brothers never spoke like that. I always ended up giggling and laughing after just few seconds and so did they. I even did that with my ex when we were new friends, lol
