Is A Same-Sex Kiss In A Kids Movie Okay?

I fixed the category. I don't know why things get put into Sexuality so often, but it's quite annoying.
At any rate, no. They are not appropriate for kids movies and do not belong in them.
Thank you!
Thank you for MHO.
If you are talking about a romantic kiss, no, children's movies should not be used to indoctrinate children and attempt to normalize marginal behaviors.

Yes. Gay people exist. Children have gay parents. It’s a part of life. Kids are gonna have friends who have two moms or two dads.
there’s no need to shield kids from the fact that certain families are different.
No.
I'm not familiar with any movies that promote this, so I can't speak to any particular situation, but generally speaking, no.
Aberrations exist and that's fine. To each their own. Let those so inclined find those things out on their own. I did. I exhibit many aberrations from social norms. I'm also sensitive to the views of others in my life. Closeted maybe in some ways with some people, I'm good with the way I am. I choose to reveal that which I want to those whom I want.
To promote the proliferation of aberration where it would not otherwise exist is not conducive to the health of a society that wants to continue its existence.
Kids are extremely impressionable. What purpose is served by promoting aberration? None. What harm can come of it? Great harm, by presenting situations that may cause them to unnaturally question their biological, psychological selves.
Although there may be ways to let kids know that aberrations are OK, the current "woke" ways that are currently being shoved down the throats of society at large is criminal to my way of thinking.
That being said, there is much that about society today that I see as being puritanical and stultifying to the human spirit.
My pet peeve is that I believe public nudity such as is accepted in some European countries should be allowed and accepted in the U. S. It is the states, counties, and municipalities that are largely in regulation of public nudity. I think that once it was to be freely allowed, its practice would be confined to acceptable locations, as in Europe, not being a free-for-all of lewd behavior everywhere one looks, as many naysayers proclaim would be the case.
That's my two cents.
You can put whatever you want in your movies, that said movies should be properly rated and described. Last time I checked it wasn't rated G for gay or PG for pretty gay. In general sexual topics in kids movies should be avoided. Once you get to the PG-13 rating then some material may be inappropriate for children. This generally related to either violence, partial nudity, sensuality, adult language, adult activities, or other elements. So, if they want to have homosexual kissing in movies just rate it PG-13 so that parents are aware of the content type and describe the plot about a gay couple doing whatever gay couples do in that particular movie.
Gay or not, why do kids need to see people kissing anyway? When I was a kid I closed my eyes whenever I saw people in movies making out. It was just uncomfortable to me.
Ngl I think it's pretty weird how eager the LGBTQ activists are to gain access to everybody's kids. Just sayin'.
I don't think it's wrong, but only if it actually was key for the story. Otherwise it belongs in the deleted scenes. And I don't like that it's in basically every movie serie, these days. So yeah this part in lightyear makes no sense. Why would they involve a kid in it to, that would confuse kids even more. Besides this whole faster then light thing is wrong, he wouldn't age but neither would she by more than a few hours. It wouldn't take years to go to and back to a star at near light speed. So he would be gone a few hours. Each attempt.
I guess it's OK, if it's put in there for the right reasons. There's too many movies and television shows now that are trying to impress the LGTBQ community and win them over. I would never write a story with a bi or gay character unless I thought it was right for that character.
These movie makers try too hard. They do marketing research polls and just because a lot of their movie goers are gay or bi, they think they are winning them over. If I were gay, I'd refuse to watch one of these movies just because I felt it was condescending.
Somone needs to tell Hollywood and Disney, or everyone else doing this no one cares!
Whether we like it or not whether we celebrate this movement or are disgusted by it this is what the world is coming to. This will soon be the next new norm no matter where we stand.
As once people saw segregation as unjust and inhumane while others during that same time felt it un-natural to mix races, we are now facing a similar battle in this nation. Instead of race acceptance being the main issue it is now a matter of gender preference acceptance.
It's only okay if y'all just shu-
Then on second thought... i suppose it depends how the kiss happens. If it's like that one you see in teenagers movies where they are going at it, nah. Not for a kids movie. Kids are fine with kisses of adults, gay or not. But I think it's becoming overdone and confusing with they go hard at it. Then, ya got a bit of an issue you can't really explain to kids.
No, of course not. I'm assuming that by your use of the word "kids" you mean pre-teens, age zero to twelve, and at that age they should just be having fun and not concerning themselves with adult issues like sex, whether straight or deviant. Why can't we just let children be children? Why are so many trying to force them into growing up so fast?
Would a straight kiss be oukey? Of so, why not a gay kiss? Is just a kiss. Doesn't prevent children from being children.
@This_Is_My_Opinion8 It doesn't prevent children from being children, but it does give them the wrong ideas about what it means to be normal. Straight kiss = gift from God, divinely sanctioned. Queer kiss = the work of the devil.
Homosexuality is normal.
The devil doesn't exist and neither does god
@This_Is_My_Opinion8 Wrong on all counts.
Why do you say it's not normal?
Just confusing children with catastrophic consequences for many of them it seems unfortunately.
I believe in freedom. Freedom means a production studio has the freedom to make the movie how they see fit.
Everyone else in the world wants to wave their wand of authority and force everyone to live by their single standard.
I can't stand all y'all out here. Leftists want to force the movie producer to have Trans and guys, and rightist want to force them NOT to.
What ever happened to fucking freedom? Why is freedom so evil to everyone?
Our responses to this question are in no way connected to forcing anyone to do anything. We choose what we can/will accept and what we will reject and avoid. If you are implying that we all MUST purchase, view, endorse a kids’ film with a same sex kiss, then where is your freedom?
We all have freedom to avoid what is objectionable. We are not obligated to accept it merely because you are free to produce it.
I am sorry that you can’t stand everyone. Seriously, life is fuller with other people in it. I hope you can find a way to accept your neighbors.
No it is not about having the freedom to avoid what you don't want to see. Conservatives want to force others to comply with their beliefs about God gender and so on.
Abortion is probably first up on the line. Consdrvatives wish to take away abortion. Not only that, conservatives want to remove the morning after pill and even condoms. This is a growing conservative mentality.
Conservatives wish to take people's freedoms away, not simply live and let live.
If that's what conservatives wanted than they would sound more like libertarians.
But all I see is conservatives of the socialist communist fascist nature these days. Gone are the days where conservatives advocated for liberty simply to spite liberals.
Infantacide is hardly comparable to directorial discretion in Hollywood
Sure. If hetero couples can and do kiss in a kids movie, then i see no issue. Plus you have kids movies where villains have fallen off cliffs to their death, been mauled by hyenas, hung by jungle vines, impaled on a ships broken tip etc.
If moral behavior is acceptable, then immoral behavior must be? That doesn’t make any sense. Yes, there are appropriate ways to introduce and portray immoral behavior to children—but the idea that acceptance of moral behavior must induce acceptance of immoral behavior is nonsensical.
A flimsy argument? You are propounding the precept that if I will accept the moral I must accept the immoral. That is ridiculous. I understand that you do not believe it is immoral. That’s great. And you should accept it and enjoy showing the film to your children. It is absurd, however, to tell me that I should show the immoral to my children if I accept the moral.
I never said you had to show them. I don't care if you do or don't, or why. I told you not to come at me with a flimsy subjective argument based in your own preferences.
Now if we want to get on about decency in kids movies, that's a broaaaaad subject with a lot more to it than kissing. Murder, accidents, suicide, natural disasters, attempted genocides etc.
@TooHot2Care Nope. Not even close. You should read what I wrote. …but that language is completely unacceptable.
@Paul_in_Indy Your pedantic use of language is utterly repulsive, and frankly it stinks of overuse. . . . You don't seriously think you're the first one to take the overly academic approach to his written word, do you?
A romantic kiss shouldn't be in kids movie, same sex or between sexes. Kids have enough life things to deal with, they don't need to deal with sex and love.
It’s very wrong and inappropriate to expose children to the unhealthy and unnatural lifestyle choice of homosexuality.
The answer is HELL NO!!! Why? It's simple, it's the called Woke political maneuver, who wants to force it into our throats, otherwise, they'll accuse you to be homophobic, anti-LGBT, racist, etc...
No, kids don't need to see that. Homosexuality is not something to be made to look glamorous. It is tough to be gay.
NO! It's not okay in any movie actually. At least not without a warning given so you can decide not to see it.
I agree with both replies.
If any kiss is okay in a kids movie, than ANY kiss is okay in a kids movie.
Of course it is. Only in America, where people seem quite happy to do nothing meaningful to protect kids from being shot at school, would they freak out over a kiss.
Sure it's just a kiss. Just teaching kids that physical affection is a good thing
