I'm currently reading Sharp objects by Gillian Flynn (author of Gone Girl). 10th book so far this year 👏
I just finished reading 'The Time Machine' by H. G Wells. I haven't read much classic literature, and since the book series I've been working on contains time travel, I decided to read one to compare. It was a really good book.
I recently picked up 'From Russia with Love' by Ian Flemming, and I'm about 100 pages in, so I'm about halfway through, and this one is getting good also.
I'm going to check into a couple more time-travel books after this. I hear 'The Time Traveler's Wife' is good. I don't usually read romance, I like more Mystery, Horror, and Sci-fi, but sometimes those romance novels have a good story.
The last couple books I got from the library weren't good at all. I got this one book that was supposed to be a best seller about these Witches that travel through time solving crimes and there was so much narrative description, Info-dumping galore. She had a good story line but way too many descriptive details. Some descriptions too up a half of a page.
When I write my novels, I try not to go overboard like that. It can bored the reader. Mystery novels are my favorite genre, especially when there's suspense. I love being put on the edge of my seat! I wish I could find more books that are page turners because some of these authors are good at writing, but their books aren't. I might look for 'The Dark Tower' series from Stephen King next.

I'm listening to "The Practice of the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence. I can't concentrate on a page to read since I had Covid. Audible is a big help as a result.
I am embarrassed to admit I have not read a single book since I got a new job about a year ago. I usually read 3 or 4 books when I go on vacation. I had no vacation last year and it's not looking too good for this year either.
