Why am I the only one bothered by song repetition?

I am currently being driven and riven to distraction by this piece of Satanic excrement masquerading as music.

Once every hour, everywhere you go, on the radio, they play it. On the hour, every hour. There is no peace from it, there is no rest from it. Whichever office you go into, whichever room, it's on. This whiny source of agony is permanently etched into my subconscious. When the song ends on whatever torture device is blaring it out, it doesn't stop repeating in my mind until the next time it's on in the next hour.

What is wrong with people, why does this kind of thing bother no one else? Why are we so artless and philistine?

If you live in the US and this hasn't hit your consciousness yet you don't know how lucky you are.

That's every radio station. The one my mom used to run in the house when I was in school played the same damn ~10 songs all day every day, and even when I came home from college they had only swapped out two. I basically stopped even listening to radio after college and just have about 200 songs I like or have liked over the years on a randomly shuffled playlist.

There’s good repetition in music… and there’s also bad repetition, in my opinion.

Lewis Capaldi is certainly not my idea of a great artist either, I will say… “whiny agony,” as you’ve put it… I couldn’t have said it better lol.

I definitely wouldn't call it the most amazing song out there, but I can see why others like it. It's not a f you song but actually one thats well wishing. Something that this generation likes a lot.
