Could not agree with you more.
First, I am not really a football fan, though I don't mind it. However, in my head, its' association with the onset of Fall and, worse still, Winter, makes seeing the game played on television to psychological equivalent of a funeral dirge.
Ditto, "Back to School" advertisements. Don't get me wrong. I loved school - especially high school and college. I had a great time and am nostalgic in a lot of ways for those days.
Still, you walk into a store the day after the 4th of July and you see "Back to School" displays!! Good grief!! "I just want to enjoy summer," I want to shout. "Leave me alone."
So I am totally with you. Soon we will be back to the gray dreary weather when you can't step outside without wearing 8 layers of clothes. Oh, yippeeee!
They can have their football and their "Back to School" sales and all the rest. I just wish they would not remind me until at least after August 15. Frankly, till after Labor Day if they could.
However, I will try to be reasonable and compromise. Ditto: Message to Mother Nature: "Henceforward leaves may not be allowed to change color until after the September 21st Autumnal Equinox. Until then, it is officially Summer and you should behave accordingly!!!"
I get depressed when I start seeing school supplies in stores
I've been seeing Halloween stuff since the beginning of July.
BOO.
Thanks for the mho

Don't watch pro football anymore, so no. College football is one season I always get excited for. September and early October is fun because I still can watch baseball tandem with college football before college basketball comes in too.
The only sport I get bummed out about is the NBA season. That one goes on forever.
I'm not into football at all, but I get depressed when I see "Back to School" sales popping up. The displays go up on the last day of school here, but when they start pushing the sales in mid August or so, I'm reminded that soon I have to go back to work LOL!
If I'm being forced to watch it or even listen to it!! Thankfully, now that I'm alone, I never have to worry about that, anymore! NO football, anymore!! Nothing but records and music!!
I am only interested in a very few teams and I enjoy watching them. Very much so if they win! Not at all depressed.
Dude. That's not football.

Yes I do, but it's not because summer is almost over, it's because football is now competing with baseball, my favorite sport.
only if Aaron Rodgers is the starting quarterback...
Not at all. I get excited! I love college football!!
No I don’t watch football
