Good Evening Peeps,
Earlier today, I was watching Sherlock Holmes on TV (the Jeremy Brett version), and something about Sherlock being eccentric makes me wonder if he might have been autistic?
P. S. I know he's a fictional character and only exists on paper and on film, so no smartass remarks about that, please.

No, at least not written as such by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the Original Texts from, 1887, simply because Autism was first described and tried to classify in 1911.
You certainly could try to analyse Sherlock Holmes, but over the years there are countless media released with their own version of Holmes (and Watson,...), some may have a little bit more autistic traits than others, but overall Sherlock is not written as an autistic person, even by todays standards.
Well, officially, but the condition obviously predates the diagnosis of it.
Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character but his methods and mannerisms are based upon Dr. Joseph Bell who I do believe was thought to be autisitc but I'm unsure.
Perhaps he is...
