Can you watch cartoons and play video games and still be mature?

Or in your mind if you play video games and watch cartoons you can't be a mature person? Are these things mutually exclusive?

I watch some cartoons still... mainly old 90s ones like x-men. and i definitely still play and collect video games. I also have a collection of disney animated movies from Snow White to i think Lilo and Stitch in order of release! A few pixar movies too.

I think of myself as a mature person. I adhere to my priorities still. i make sure i get to all my chores, i maintain my job, any loved ones that need me i take care of them first before partaking in my hobbies... but maybe others have a different opinion on my maturity here hmmm...

Definitely. If anything, some games can teach in both the bad and the good.

i gotta give cyberpunk 2077 another try. sounds like they really improved things since that disastrous launch back in 2020 lol

I didn't even touch it until the patch. At first played it on PS4, then recently PS5. Even though it did great on the PS4 despite late load ins, it's a lot better on the PS5.

I pre-ordered Phantom Liberty, but haven't had a chance to start it yet. It has relatively positive reviews.

I've noticed this is a trend among recent generations, worrying about cartoons being childish or video games somehow taking away your "adult" status. The reality is a lot of us as adults really hate being adults, so it's easy for us to hold onto the nostalgia of being a child, enjoying things that were made for a younger audience but still hold relevance to us. Plus, I don't think there's anything wrong with appreciating animation on its own, the art of making a cartoon -- let alone the process of cartoon production -- is very much indeed an art. Someone put a lot of love into that to tell a story (or something to make everyone laugh because they think it's funny) and there's no reason you can't appreciate that sentiment alone as an adult.

Nothing wrong with cartoons or video games. I've loved cartoons since a tiny child and still love them: old ones and new. Good cartoons are no different than any comedic/dramatic film, except there are no physical limits with animation. Rick and Morty is irreverent and as hilarious as Bugs, Wily Coyote and Road Runner, Ren and Stimpy, Catdog, Invader Zim, Rocko's Modern Life and a host of others. And I'm always equally on the lookout for good video games. I was around when Marble Madness, Q-bert and and Zaxxon were around. I love shooter games. Just shooting bugs. Galaxia. There's a hundred more.

On NPR today they listed a host of ecological video games that have just come out. Don't know where to find them, but I'm a member of my NPR station, so I can find out and see how I can get one.

It all falls under entertainment. Am I immature because I ride a bike or a skateboard? Because kids do it? As long as you're able and you enjoy something and take care of whatever adult business you need to, it's copacetic, and FUN.

Plus, we occasionally play video games.

We believe we're entitled to goof around like irresponsible teenagers every once-in-a-while.

Our parents have repeatedly said that we're both "still young at heart" which I believe is true.
