OMG, the song where the heretofore rocking band Electric Light Orchestra sold their souls to Disco for a paycheck! Man, this topic is bringing back memories.

For one entire summer, (circa 1977), Debbie Boone's "You Light up my Life" played nearly continuously on the radio. It was cute little song the first 9,862,000 times I heard it. To this day, I don't care if I NEVER hear it again. The current age is different because many of us hardly ever listen to the radio. We listen to self selected music on playlists of our choice. Proof of this is that Taylor Swift occupies all 10 of the current top 10 songs, and to my knowledge I have heard a portion of ONE of them. Left to me, Led Zeppelin would own the top ten

OMG I do remember this. While Debbie Boone's sweet little song was a refreshing change from the Disco music that dominated that time, it was indeed played to death!

This song was played all the time back in the AM Radio , Top 40 days. I took a ferry ride to Nova Scotia that year and there was a juke box on the boat and it seemed like this was constantly playing.

70s and 80s heavy rock and progressive rock. Music never stopped in the family home. I didn't even watch TV till I was 12 years old.
