Have you read any of the Dean Koontz books or watched any of the films based on them?

I’m not into reading anything longer than 100 pages outside of school, so thats a no for me lmao. But I’ve seen 3 of his films (Hideaway, Phantoms, and Sole Survivor) in the past and enjoyed 2 of the 3. I’m assuming all of his works are psychological thrillers but I’m not sure. They’re just always so different. Normally I dont care for films that contain more talk than action but seem worthwhile. I first saw Sole Survivor back in 2000. I was just a kid but i recall it being a miniseries on the Sci-Fi/Syfy channel. I’ve seen that film at least once every 5 years. And then I saw Hideaway maybe around my teen years cause i was so into Jeff Goldblum. His intelligence always turned me on plus my dude kinda sounds like him 😂 I’m actually watching Hideaway for maybe the 4th time rn while work is slow. And then Phantoms was honestly disappointing. It had some good moments and lots of action but the story was lacking for me. #FeelFeeToList

Wow, I didn't realize that I'd read so many of his books. I keep files of all of the authors and books I've read so I don't forget. As far as movies go, I think Demon Seed is the only movie I've seen of his.

It was pretty good. It was a 70's movie so it has a 70's feel.

I loved Velocity, The Husband, Shattered, Whispers, Watchers.

Passengers? The space film with Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt? Those plots and totally different.
Have you seen Manifest? I think it is on Netflix. It is about passengers that take a flight from Jamaica to New York. When they get off, the government officials are awaiting them to question everyone. The flight had gone missing for 5 years. Twins were involved, one took the flight one did not. When one on the plane was still 11 years old the one who did not was now a 16 year old teen. Engaged people returned to find their mate had already married someone else... etc.
It is pretty wild.

I normally dont like frankenstein films but he has one. I’d like to see that especially since it has Thomas Kretschmann from King Kong. And wow Watchers is a 3 film series. It mustve been real good

Frankenstein more than Demon seed. They were alright, but not great, at least in my opinion.

Frankenstein is a serial killer, and his monster is assisting the police, but I don't wanna spoil it, if you want to watch it.

If they dont air it on tv/cable, i’ll never see it. But theyve played Hideaway and Sole Survivor on tv for the first time again in like 10 years so maybe they’ll do more Koontz stuff for Halloween. I love Thomas Kretschmann. I hope seeing him play a certain way doesn't ruin him for me lol

He produces what I call airport literature, together with Dan Brown and Tom Clancy (plus others). I usually buy one of these in airport bookstores to pass the travel time and they happen to be mediocre to bad books almost every time. 😂
He might very well be another case where the films are better than the books (like Tom Clancy).

Yea the films are probably better. I want to watch Clancys “Without Remorse” but i couldnt get into “Clear and Present Danger”. Dan Browns “Inferno” movie had its moments but dragged on too long
