James Bond - Who Was The Best?

Any 007 fans out there? I saw my first James Bond movie as a young boy and was immediately intrigued. Do you have a favorite James Bond?

My first Bond was Roger Moore, and he seemed to define the character for me. I think Sean Connery obviously set the tone of the entire series in a way no other could’ve. Both Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby have been kind of underrated in my opinion and did better than they get credit for. Pierce Brosnan was absolutely born for the role and seemed like a perfect pairing but sadly was saddled with a poor batch of writing. Daniel Craig, and the reboot of writing, absolutely saved the franchise and may very well be the most influential Bond ever. If I had to pick one, I’d give the martini to Daniel. How about you?

How about a favorite Bond Girl, gadget, location, car, or villain?

I'd give the Martini to Roger Moore. I think Connery is the best actor. But 007 is a spy and I think Connery stands out to much. Not something you want from a spy. Also Connery while his screen presence oozes masculinity I feel that Moore fits the bill of what we expect from Bond. Style, grace, can throw down if needed. I don't dislike Craig but I look at him as "woke Bond". Lazenby I can't stand at all. I watched interviews of him and he's just a vulgar a**hole. I didn't like Dalton's Bond. Because I feel that "The living daylights" is the movie where Bond went from just spy to action hero. And yes I'll agree Pierce does seem like he was born to play the role as he has a air of realness to him.

But pound for pound I think Rogermoore embody ever facet of 007 and fit the role the best. Was the most believable Bond.

I'll go with Daniel Craig
His acting and his movies were really good, something about Skyfall is really magical

To be honest, lot of other Bond actors didn't have the physique to look like a badass Mi6 agent

Girls well there's Natalia (I've a weakness for redheads) runners up Vesper and Madeline


Gadgets the exploding pen, not a real gadget but the platinum Omega Planet Ocean from Casino Royale


Locations are varied and many are impressive but to visit probably Scotland ala Skyfall


Car well I like Goldfingers Royce, the DB5, the DBS and Onatopp's Ferrari (F355 if I recall correctly)


Villains Goldfinger, Xenia Onatopp and Saffin

Absolutely great answers. I always thought the DB5 was “the” James Bond car but that Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me was the first one I really remember as a kid. As far as that Omega in Skyfall - man, I just love it. One of the best of the Omegas they ever associated with 007.

Sean Connery is the best James Bond. His Aston Martin was the best Bond car.

I think this is probably the one answer that borders on fact. It’s a solid argument that those two, more than any other, define the image of James Bond. Throw in a Walther PPK and a martini and it’s the whole genre.
