What is your favourite Death metal band?

Going off of the top of my head it'd be Amon Amarth or Dying Fetus. Both bands I listened to heavily throughout middle school (5th - 8th grade).

@AaronKrieger When I was growing up, they were considered a Death Metal band, but over the years, their music evolved. The definitely play more than one sub-genre

Vocals are death metal but most of their songs guitar tracks are more like thrash metal

A lot of vocals, not all. And I agree, that Death Metal isn't as melodic. Not that Lamb of God is overly melodic, but at least there is some pattern and complexity to the riffs

Metal has different subgenres that are defined by certain styles of vocals and guitar riffs. Slayer is thrash metal.

Thrash & death metal are similar in having aggressive guitars, but the vocals are very different. Thrash is a mix of harsh/clean, while death has low growled vocals.
