Rock & Roll dominated music charts thought the 60s, 70s, and 80s, but since the early 90s, it's become less and less popular as rap/hip-hop, EDM, etc have become more popular.

Not even close. Its not dying but it is changing. It doesn't sound like Zeppelin, Hendrix, Aerosmith, Eagles, or Deep Purple anymore. Its evolved.

Look no further than Alter Bridge, Rise Against, The Letter Black, Dream Theater, Foo Fighters, Hammerfall, Ad Infinitum, and you'll see that Rock/Heavy Metal is alive and well.

There are more good rock bands out there than ever before, but you won't find it in the mainstream. The mainstream music scene is 99% garbage churned out on computers using auto-tune and pitch correction software. It is NOT real music, but sadly the average brainwashed music buying moron is too stupid to care.

Well, there are probably more rock bands active than during its 'height', but its mostly not chart music anymore. So far from dying but not the most popular anymore. Which is sad but here we are with mostly crap charts where you wonder: 'who the fuck likes to hear most of that shit?'

Yes and no. I think old school rock n' roll is, in the sense that fewer artists are producing that sound. But I think new artists are doing their best to keep the genre as a whole alive. However, I feel that modern artists are running out of ideas. This is blatantly obvious by the fact that so many hits from modern artists are covers of classic rock songs

Rock and Roll is timeless. It will never regain that novelty value that it had in the 1950s-60s but it's definitely not going away. Bear in mind people still play and listen to jazz, which is an older genre.

@Siri137 Not really. Rock and roll didn't spring up out of nowhere, it evolved from blues, the rhythms are timeless. A lot of your "better" music didn't supercede rock and roll, it evolved from it.
