Judy played better and sang better. She even had her little “rap moments”. Had me dancing up a storm! Everyone in Dianas film sang better except for her. Her solo songs were so cringe ugh. But i like how she co-sang “Be a Lion” and “Brand New Day”

Girl, you read my mind! Judy Garland was complete package as Dorothy - she acted the role perfectly AND her singing is legendary. When you hear Somewhere over the rainbow, you’d think of Judy Garland as Dorothy throughout generations. Like you said, she even had those little moments that were lowkey like rapping before rap was really a thing. Gets your foot tapping every time. And yo, you're so right about Diana Ross. Don't get me wrong cause she's the supreme queen... but her solo songs in The Wiz just ain't hold a candle to Judy. They were kinda cringe sometimes like you said. But whenever she sang with the other characters it was dope. "Be A Lion" and "Brand New Day" slap when the whole cast is singing together. I think that was Ross' strength was the ensemble numbers. But Home tho you can’t deny - she sung the hell out of it in the end 🙌🏽 Whereas Judy crushed as a true triple threat carrying the whole movie. No competition - Garland's Dorothy was untouchable with the acting AND vocals. We can appreciate Diana Ross while still admitting Judy Garland did it way better in the role, no doubt about it!

Yea but i actually didn't like Somewhere over the Rainbow. That shit make me sleepy. I like her little rap at 0:40 of the first vid and I like her little skip hop at 2:10 in Follow the Yellow Brick Road. She was bout to breakout dancing like snoop dogg or sumn haha
