Big poetry! Yelling! Emotions! Big emotions.

I try to do some just off the cuff like Robert Frost in a bar. Robert Frost! Frostie! Frosting the frosty foods that he would serve if today's technology was available back then!
Somberness.
Whales. Dolphins.
Horses. Unicorns.
Big shout! Wind!
Air in the fan. Fan makes waves.
Waves of despair! Waves of hair!
No longer to be feared.
Big nose. Big booger.
Life is short. Don't fart. - +1 y
Actually re-reading that kind of inspires me to go further.
Jurassic Park!
T-Rex! Ooooh.
But Velociraptor.
Claw your belly.
Exploded your helly!
Velociraptor. Like bird.
Bird-turd! Big turd fly.
Fly like the sky.
Like my emotions.
On family, take wing.
Food on the family.
9-11. Bling-bling.
We all had a 9-11 ding-ding.

+1 yTypically, I don't. That focus on making everything rhyme and fit a pattern usually devolves the content. I'm trying to say the content of what they're saying starts to sound retarded because the focus gets put on this or that rhyme and rhythm.
Then I'm sure we've all been exposed to that rap music where they'll just end everything they say with the same word that starts with a "N" and rhymes with "bigger." Pure genius material there! You know, that stuff where the content is bragging about assaulting people, treating females like complete objects, violence, drugs, their money, and other bullshit an 8-year-old child might think about while under threat of constant violence towards him. <--devolved content.
When I write it, I have to admit my content starts turning into what I'm like when I'm just trolling or shitposting. Everyone loves a good shit post here and there, but sometimes I have to indulge my serious side... just a bit more intellectual side. I'll find myself just saying wacky shit to make myself giggle about saying it later. Just look at the titles of rap songs I did..."I get my dick sucked" - "Lookin for School Girls" - "Craigslist Hookers"
My point is... Prostitutes and underaged school girls wouldn't be the subject matter if I was just writing and not thinking about making it rhyme or fit a beat. I'm my own best example of how the content starts turning into a shit show just because I want to make it sound a certain way.

+1 yAll my classes at uni rn (I'm studying to be an English teacher) are about poetry. I already hated it and I hate it even more now. It's the free structure that frustrates me - there's iambs and metrics and all the different ways to specify the measurable stanzas and yet if you break the structure, it's somehow still poetry? What's the difference between a shopping list and poetry, then?
Maybe I'm bitter because even though poetry is the most fluid kind of writing, boundless without any rules, I've been told that I do it wrong. HOW do you write poetry wrong? So yeah, I hate it with a firey passion 🙃30 Reply
+1 yPoetry is something I studied in college very intimately as part of my writing degree. Before college, I had lightly dabbled in it, nothing award-winning or noteworthy but I had enjoyed writing it. After studying it at a collegiate level I will never write poetry again. I hated so much of what I learned lol
I’ll still enjoy reading it, and free verse performances are very eye-catching still, it’s very much an art and one worthy of noting but it’s also one I refuse to do anymore after dealing with the pretentiousness of “the greats” and also dissecting poems that were only 4 words long. Never again. The classics can stay there, I’m good here lmao20 Reply832 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. I love it, I write many of Them planning to convert them into a book of poems

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Trump says he's the Messiah,
Now how do you do? - +1 y
@handsomelad70 nice, I will Give it a try..
@Asker This one is especially inspired from you and mostly for you @thegreenyogi
Roses are Red,
Violets are Blue.
Politicians will say anything,
To get Votes from you.
As Winter sets in,
Roses will Wither,
Violets will wilt,
So will political promises,
Turn into Guilt.
As the Ground freezes cold.
Roses will be spines,
Unsettling News will make you ask,
"Am I going to be fine?"
Near frozen lake,
Violets will have their Grave,
Your faith will dwindle,
In your eyes courage shake.
Remembering the beauty of Rose 🌹
And how gently it bloom.
It felt full of life 🥺
And now it's spines are a doom.
Wilted Violets will poke your mind
Sing you a hyme,
Birth-Life-death-rebirth
A Tale old as time.
As the spring sets in,
You will go sit upon a rock.
Reflect upon is all,
Autumn, winter or fall.
Realisation will hit you,
It's just a Magic of time
Fleeting Life is beautiful,
You are just a mortal coil
You will Sit on the rock.
Like a hermit or sage.
Command your panic and rage.
Choose to quit, Media the mage.
Lake will unfreeze
Soil will be warm again.
Roses will have Buds.
Violets will set roots in.
Fog of mortal realms
will clear in your sight.
Peace 😇 will set in,
You know you will be alright.
In Peace and delight,
You will close your eyes.
Knowing that someday,
Roses will bloom again
Violets will shine 💜💎 - +1 y

+1 yIn primary school I had been forced to learn some poems by heart.
This (un-nice) experience sticks deeply - to an extent that when a poem pops up in a novel that I' m reading... I'll skip it.20 Reply - 1.4K opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic.
