Rest in Peace George Harrison and John Lennon

George died from cancer and John was murdered. Johns Lennon was killed by another man named Mark David Chapman who is still currently in prison as of 2024.

Each voice was very distinctive on their own, and the blending was really unique at the time. John had one of the best groveling, rock n' roll voices ever, while Paul's high parts were difficult yet smooth. George fit right in the middle and could go high or low as needed, though his vocals were a bit more restrained. It's tough to pick a favorite because they were so great together but each had their strengths.

I like Paul McCartney more but that's primarily due to his post-Beatles work.
He had many hits on his own and in Wings.

Within the Beatles, songs sung by each member as lead singer were good and were often hits.

( Paul McCartney and ) Wings was a really good band and for much of the 1970s, they had hit after hit.

Before Disco would become dominant, not a year would go by with McCartney / Wings having a significant hit.

The first CD that I ever purchased (around 1986 give or take a year) was "Wings' Greatest Hits" although, sadly, some hits were left off and others didn't belong there.

Like, Really? "Mull of Kintyre"? What the fuck is that? Yet, "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five" was left off.

Here are "Band on the Run" and "Nineteen Hundred and Eight-Five", the first and last track's of their 1973 album "Band on the Run" released the same year they did the theme to the James Bond movie "Live and Let Die".

My three favorite (U. S. spelling) songs by the Beatles are "Here Comes the Sun" "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" and "Something" so my favorite singer of the lot is George. And my favorite of all of their solo stuff is George's "What Is Life?"

McCartney is good but I think Harrison was underrated. Consider his solo career and the Travelling Wilburys working with Orbison, Petty Dylan and Lynne.

I loved George and the songs he wrote. They all had great voices except in my opinion Ringo, but George had more talent, in my opinion.

Ringo's my favourite Beatle. GREAT drummer, underrated singer, boyish and a bit goofy, plus his birthday's the day after mine. (And his wife is former Bond babe Barbara Bach.)

None. I never thought any of them were great as solo artists, but I listen to Wings with McCartney more than any of the others.

Not sure how much you've listened to their solo stuff? Individually, John and George have releases that are highly acclaimed and considered iconic, while Paul released many great singles as a solo artist and some iconic songs with Wings. I remember being told " Son, never date a girl who thinks McCartney's first band was Wings -- she's either too young or too uniformed". LOL
