1. Real life man Barney Hill in the 1975 NBC TV movie "The UFO Incident". He and his wife Betty were allegedly abducted by aliens in September 1961 while driving at night in rural New Hampshire. These were real people.
This is the first time I remember seeing James Earl Jones, but, even then, I believe that I had seen him elsewhere.
2. Real life writer Alex Haley who wrote Roots which set off the desire in Americans to do genealogy. James Earl Jones played Haley in the 1979 ABC TV miniseries "Roots: The Next Generations", the sequel to the 1977 ABC TV blockbuster miniseries "Roots".
3. Also, Terence Mann, the reclusive former writer who is almost abducted but then volunteers to go with Kevin Costner's character of farmer Ray Kinsella in "Field of Dreams", the 1989 hit baseball movie whose filming location on a farm in Iowa is now a famous location even with MLB games played there.
Off the top of my head, this is perhaps my favorite James Earl Jones character.
I have enjoyed watching him and listening to his voice since the days of Conan (the one with Schwarzenegger.) BUT, the one that made me laugh was my favourite, and that was his appearance in the Big Bang Theory!
Any and all. Love that man. Always been in my top favs. He made cameo appearances in a number of films in the 90's, and always made the movies better. I remember the movies due to him.
I think his parts in Patriot Games, Clear and present danger and Field of dreams stand out the most to me. Not sure why.
And of course star wars
Field of Dreams.
Oh, James Earl Jones has brought so many iconic characters to life with his incredible voice and presence! 🌟 For me, his role as Darth Vader in the Star Wars saga is absolutely unforgettable. His deep, resonant voice gave such a commanding and menacing air to Vader, making the character one of the most iconic villains in cinema history. 🌌 Every time I rewatch those scenes, I get chills! Another close favorite is his portrayal of Mufasa in The Lion King. His warm and regal voice truly embodied the noble and wise king of the Pride Lands. Which character of his do you love the most?

The king from Coming to America
There was a TV movie from '97 that Jones played in, that always stood out to me as a great character for his talent. "What the Deaf Man Heard" was the title but he played a guy who let people think they were smarter than him and manipulated them to comedic effect.
I like when he is a narrator, he has such a deep commanding type voice it works well in docuseries or documentaries.
Lion King was a great Disney film when I was growing up. James Earl Jones did a great job and I was happy when they brought him back for the live CGI film in 2019.
Obviously Vader
BUT he did good as a swashbuckler in this movie here

Ngl, he did kill his role in sandlot, but imma go with mufasa.
Darth Vader hands down. However he was in Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner. He was good in that movie.
Ohβ¦ I actually love all his characters. Heβs one of my all time favorite actors since I was little.
As Admiral Greer in the "Ryanverse".
I said Vader before I even looked but, Fulsa Doom from Conan would be my pick. Not sure of the name but he was a thousand years old and could turn into a snake.
he didn't earn favorite but Luke sky walker did.
Definitely Darth Vader I also liked him in this old movie called a piece of the action
himself... in the Big Bang Theory
The King! One of my favorite movies.
