This was inspired by @Sage2021. Today is the 4th of July which is the biggest holiday of the summer. There are many summer themed songs out there. Which song means summer to you?

Happy 4th of July

Thank you so much for playing my favorite summer song. I listened to it a few times.🙂
There were some other choices people said was their favorite song but unfortunately not all of us have the equipment to put them on GaG. Maybe you can for them?
I would enjoy listening to more summer songs. The people that were able to upload songs made great choices didn't they?
I believe this post was a hit! Definitely!
I'm going to come back to it later today and see if more people added to it.
Have a very Happy 4th of July 🎆. I just know you are bar-b-quing today. The "Calm the Grill Master" is at it again today.
I love country style ribs on the Barbie (as they call it in Australia). Would you grill a couple for me and send them over? HaHa...

good one ;)
Thank you! 🥰
I think of Beach Boys songs like this one
When I think about summer, I also remember the following song. In the summer of 1970, when I was 16, my friends and I spent all of our time at the beach. One day, two friends and I were lying on beach with our surfboards and a transistor radio. This song rose to #4 on the charts and was being played a lot.
At one point, one of my friends mused "This is the best summer we will ever have." An he wasn't wrong. It was idyllic; carefree.
The song isn't about summer, but it reminds me of that summer.
But Loverboy's Scott Smith drowned there Nov.30,2000.
It's the Fourth of July, I'm proud to be an American, and I love this song:

Happy 4th of July 🎆 to you!
Thank you for sharing this song with us. I got choked up watching the video and listening to the words of the song.
I remember that song. To heat it now makes me long for the good ol' days when America 🇺🇸 was a great place to live. I am a native American and I have spent almost 70 years living here.
It saddens my heart when I know how it used to be and what it is now.
So many people took the best country in the world and totally dismantled it into what it is now.
I wish sometimes the younger people could have experienced America 🇺🇸 when it was a great place to live, and we did feel free living here.
So, when people hear that Trump wants to make America great again, I wish for that too. We all should stand behind Trump because he wants to make America a place to feel free and enjoy living here.
Not like it is now where people are afraid to go outside and walk in their own neighborhood because the Boogeyman could get you and kill you. That's no way to live. In fact, that isn't living at all - it's existing.
Thanks again for sharing your song with us.
This post turned out pretty good - would you agree?
@sage2021 Yes, indeed.
My family has been here since the Mayflower landed in 1620. I have numerous ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War, including two who died during the war: one in the defense of Philadelphia, and the other died in camp at Valley Forge. I will go to my grave being a proud American!
Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.
@OlderAndWiser. Wow, did your ancestors come over on the Mayflower?
@exitseven. Yes. One of my ancestors was Richard Warren, a signer odd the Mayflower Compact.
@OlderAndWiser. I live near Plymouth Rock and there is a replica of the Mayflower there. About 20 years ago it needed to get sent back to England to get restored. I worked with a guy whose ancestors came over on the Mayflower and he was one of these guys that dresses up in period clothes and marches in parades. He told me they needed a crew to sail the Mayflower 2 back from England and there was going to be a raffle. he entered it and I thought it would be cool so I did too. He did not win the raffle but it turned out that I did. I was sort of psyched about it. I went to a meeting about it and had to take a sailing course and get some kind of certification from the Coast Guard. Later it was determined i had a double hernia so i had to dropout of it. It sucked.
@exitseven. My father was born and raised in
Lynn, Lynn, the city of sin.
You never go out the same way you came in.
One on his ancestors participated in the Boston Tea Party. Afterwards, they were concerned about retribution, so they moved to what is now Maine and waited a hundred years, then decided it was safe to return!
Oh, the perfect summer song fills the air like a warm breeze! 🍉 For me, "Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince always brings back that quintessential summer vibe. It feels like hanging out with friends at a barbeque, making unforgettable memories, and just enjoying life. 🌞 The playful rhythm and carefree lyrics perfectly capture the essence of those long sunny days and nights full of adventure.
Happy 4th of July! 🎆 What’s your summer anthem?

Ahh yes! I remember this song very well. I really enjoyed listening to it. I can't remember what band did that song and it's right on the tip of my tongue. Would you please release my brains frustration and tell me.
I am pretty sure that sounds was a hit during the summer of 1967 or 1968 maybe?
I spent part of my summer vacation in beautiful Lake Tahoe, California. I think I was 13 or 14 that summer.
The lady we were staying with played that song so many times while I was there. And of course it was on the radio almost every hour when they'd play the top 40's over and over all day long. I thought it was the top 30 songs but someone told me it was the top 40.🤷🏼♀️
Anyway, I hope you have a great 4th of July 🎆.
@sage2021 Chad and Jeremy did it in the 60's.
