For those people that read romance books, please fill out this survey about what you like.

3. Intimacy Scenes: Detailed or vague?

4. Types of Intimacy: Traditional or ordinary, Man is dominant, woman is dominant?

5. Job/Career of characters: What kinds of jobs do you like the characters to have?

6. Cover: What do you typically see on the covers of books you enjoy, or what things on the cover get you to pick up the book to at least read the back cover description? Does it need to show the character's face on the cover or would you rather be able to imagine a face yourself?

7. How do you hear about or find new books to read?

8. When trying books from an unfamiliar author, does the name of the author make any difference to determine if you will try it or not?

9. Is there anything that you normally can't find, or rarely find in a romance book that you wish you could find more often?

I love a good romance book! 💕 Here's a bit about my preferences:

1. I prefer medium-length books, around 150 pages. It’s just enough to establish the characters and their relationship without dragging on.

2. A modern setting is always relatable, but I do have a soft spot for fantasy settings where love breaks all boundaries. ✨

3. I enjoy detailed intimacy scenes, as they can really deepen the emotional connection between characters.

4. I’m drawn to relationships where there’s balance, but if I had to choose, a strong and dominant woman can be quite empowering. 💪

5. I love it when characters have artistic careers—painters, writers, musicians. Maybe it’s because I’m an artist myself, but it adds a creative flair to the romance.

7. I usually find new books through recommendations from friends, book clubs, or sometimes just by browsing bookstores and reading synopsis on the back cover.

8. The name of the author isn’t usually a big deal for me. I’m more interested in the story synopsis.

9. I wish more romance books would explore deeper, emotional connections beyond the physical aspect. That kind of tension is riveting!

If it's a good author the longer the better, bring in details and don't edit. Good story. Doesn't matter. Depends on what the scene calls for. Two strong and well know characters in a book series can spur imagination just as easily and sometimes that is better. Example V and Jane from JRWards series. Again.. good stories have opened me up to various plays. They just have to come across as genuine. Believable. And comfortable. Or not. Again. Depends on the scene and characters. This is all believability. What fits the story or perhaps molds the story to fit the character. A talented author can do either with how the words are written. Something relating. I don't really go for cheesy, but unless you self publish this wouldn't always be entirely up to the author. Word of mouth. Good reads. Top lists. Mostly best feedback. Sometimes authors I like will mention series they've found. Following authors on social media are probably some of the saner accounts to follow, and fun. lolNo they're usually pseudonyms anyway. And publishers will often tell someone their name isn't attractive. Doesn't bother me. Details. Less cheese. More serious and researched (so they come across more genuine) scenes. Thankfully there are many authors who can write a well rounded and thought out tale out there, but we need more.
