Apart from a few old timers like the ones you've named I've never heard of a real life Barbara. Got to one of those nearly extinct names. Probably not popular here because it translates as bread bar but I wonder why it died out globally, apparently it's Greek for strange so I wonder if it was the Internet that killed it or if there was an incident that tarnished the name.

I used to have a crush on Barbara Feldon (99). Either that is not a good picture of her, or I had bad taste back then. :)

And yea, Barbara was a common girl's name for a while. Other common girl's names when I was young were Diane, Kathy/Cathy, Lisa, Linda, Debbie, Susan and Vickie.

I grew up listening to Barbara Streisand’s music, it’s part of my era. Even though I’m from the United Kingdom, when you hear her songs on the radio you can remember where you were and what you were doing. Incidentally “Woman in Love” is my favourite song by her.
