What are your expectations for TLOU2?

The writing in the first game was close to perfect, so the show didn't have to make too many changes it was more like they could add some details where they felt like it but the main story was set. But the second game had a lot of issues with the writing. So this will be more of a challenge.

BUT after watching the first episode I feel like I can trust them to cut out a lot of stuff and make good decisions with the parts they do want to tell. I feel hopeful. They can keep the themes of the story, the execution was just not great in the game. So I hope to see a better, more trimmed down, to the point version and hopefully some creative improvements as well along the way for extra flavor.

It'll be just as good as season 1 or better

I have played both games and loved them both! I actually enjoyed the second game more than the first.

For the show, I loved the first season and I feel like they were very true to the game. They handled the iconic and critical scenes well. After the first episode of season 2, I have hopes that they will continue to handle those scenes well.

I typically struggle to enjoy remakes or adaptations of source material that I love, but TLOU season 1 was an incredible adaptation that was fantastically true to the game. I feel confident in what they will accomplish with this season!!

Really? Killing joel that early and then making the whole story about revenge and then she fails her revenge but she tries again which is basically the same story arc just a second time and only then does she learn that maybe she should try and let go. I don't know it didn't feel as polished or thought through and the emotions I wasn't as invested. Watching Ellie going down this self destructive path wasn't as gripping as watching Ellie and Joel face danger together and grow closer in the first game. That's just my opinion but you can tell me what you liked about the second game :) Maybe I missed something.

I did start the first season... I think I watched the first two episodes and then I stopped so... maybe I will pick it up again, if enough people recommend it to me..
