Snoop Dogg's comments ignited a lot of conversation after he appeared speaking out on the fact he was scared to see films like this to have to explain such things to his grandson. Some fans of his feel it's downright hypocritical as he appeared on the 2004 series, The L word that focused on lesbian and other queer couples.
What are your thoughts?
9 moHe's well within his right to be concerned over the content being presented to his family.
That said, this is why the internet exists. If there are certain topics that you deem inappropriate for your family, it's YOUR responsibility to research it beforehand so you're not slapped with an unwelcome surprise. It's like the parents who took their young kids to see Deadpool, which of course is Rated R, because they thought it was just a superhero movie.43 Reply- 9 mo
@Sirenboobzilla - PR damage, if any? Minimal? (Public relations) Regarding "the Snoop"? You think? 🧐
- 9 mo
I don't think there's going to be any real long-lasting damage to his reputation. It'll blow over quickly. He's not the 1st celebrity to express disdain for "wokeness" on Disney movies, he certainly won't be the last
- 9 mo
@Sirenboobzilla can I be bold here and you're likely right - you're a real, all natural woman ; and you're a clever lady - if I had to ask in a funnier way - in your heart of hearts 🥰 💞 : Do your boobs agree with him? Or your cat? 🐈 Or would you think - at least instantly think - "it's a bit mean to appear - mean"* -

I don't understand why being lgbt is some sort of dirty secret that needs to be hidden. Seeing two women kiss isn't going to make you daughter gay. That's not how it works anymore than seeing a heterosexual kiss is going to make your kid straight. Anyone who feels the need to hide that from their children are bigoted or repressing their own sexual feelings. Either way, it's an act of cowardice on their part.22 Reply
Asker9 moI think his thought was that he didn't want to have to explain gay women to his grandson in a children's film, but I would counter to him that once upon a time in this country, blacks weren't on film in relationships with white characters for fear that it would apparently destroy the fabric of time, but BECAUSE someone took a chance and recognized it was ridiculous to think this way, people saw it, and began to see it as normal...because it was. Being gay is no different and you can't hide this from kids because out on the street, when you see a gay couple kissing, what are you going to do...run down the street. You can't prevent them from seeing these things out in the wild.
- 9 mo
I agree with you, and that's a great example. It needs to be normalized because it is normal.
Unfortunately, when people do see it on the streets, they do shield their kids from it or, in some cases, become verbally or physically violent against the gay person in question because of their biased beliefs.

It's important to acknowledge that reactions like Snoop Dogg's can stem from generational perspectives and upbringing. While it might seem hypocritical considering his past roles, everyone is at a different stage in terms of understanding and accepting diverse representations in media. Pixar including LGBTQ+ characters is a step forward for inclusivity. Films encourage open discussions, helping younger generations learn about diversity from an early age. It's crucial for public figures to use their influence to promote understanding and acceptance. 💬🎬

9 moI support the democrats and not purely because of my anti-Trump viewpoint, also, because I do not like the LGBT lifestyle, but I believe tolerating things you do not agree with, is better than destroying things you do agree with. The democrats might support groups that Christians view as unfavourable, but the Trump agenda, destroyed the lives of those that God loves. Too much inclusion is better than too much exclusion. I will also not interfere with an LGBT's desire for a relationship with somebody of their group.
I do not believe the LGBT is a clear representation of Christian ideals, but I believe we should respect people's feelings and let them choose God's lifestyle for themselves, rather than forcing them to believe as we do.
God does not force us to love him against our will, our husbands and wives do not force us to marry them against our will, and we should not force LGBT people to choose God against their will by the power of swords and guns. Let them choose God when they want, and if they want, just as God let you choose God for yourself and did not force you to choose him.

u 9 moTypical misframing by these so-called "journalists". He's not "afraid of LGBT representation", desperate though they are for him to be. He was caught off guard by a common-sense question from a child who was under ten years old (children understand that two women don't make a baby...why don't adults?). He was asked a question he wasn't prepared to answer, and he doesn't want to have to explain something like this when he should just be taking his grandson out to have a fun time. And yes, the fact that Disney is taking advantage of that to promote alternative lifestyles is deceptive and wrong.

So called LGBWhatever people are about 1% of the population. But putting them front and centre in everything like they are some sort of God cherished people is just asinine.
But even drumming it down to kids entertainment is just downright pernicious. Snoop has always been about the adult scene and never hit down to kids - even in his lyrics. He knows what is permissible legally and entertainment value.
He's watching kids stuff with his kids, for kids content - not to explain adult society, and enter into debates.

9 moHe is not in the wrong.
When I was a kid even a hetero couple kissing is considered PDA and not allowed in kids movie. If you are going to make kissing is a norm and try to put this in a movie for kids that's not acceptable for reasons like why they had to learn about intercourse, who has preferences to fuck who. Talks about Sexual act and everything should be allowed only after they hit puberty. It's a society where children are punished for using cuss words. Preach good morale on how to be a good human not what are the preferences a human can have on bedroom.14 Reply
Asker9 moThat is quite the contrary in the US. Plenty of kids films feature adults kissing. Also there was no talk of sexual acts in the film. All you see is the clip that is shown. It's not a films job to teach good morals, that is the job of the parent because kids, despite how hard you try to shield them from the world, will be exposed to cussing, drugs, alcohol, etc. so you teach them as a parent what is okay.
- 9 mo
As a person who's been corrupted by society even with good parenting and good moral upbringing. I can say for sure that society also should be responsible for the kids moral, otherwise even if a human is bought up by a decent parents won't survive the society. As snoop grandchild says why does she have a baby, he can understand the baby is born between male and female. But how could snoop make the child understand that the child is adopted/ivf/from ex/sperm donation by a stranger. There's a lid somewhere the creators need to hold back what they wish to produce and bring into society. The affinity of society norm starts with the children.
- 9 mo
I'm not against people acknowledging LGB relationships, there's a real difference between acknowledging and exploiting this.
- 9 mo
You can’t have it both ways, @Asker. Snoop is trying to teach his grandkids morals and you’re mad about his stance. So what you really mean is parents should be teaching YOUR morals. You’re a hypocrite.

9 moi think he's absolutely in the right to have his own opinion on that. i think it's a fine line between giving space for the freedom of development of young children and and nudging young impressionable people into a direction that's gonna be a dead end for them. Like if you're 16+ and you think you may be gay, that's fine. and that shuldn't be coindemned. but i think if you're under 16 you shouldn't even be exposed to that. and i think you should not be pushed into the dead end of alternative sexualities by absolute over representation in the media. i'm intentionally calling it a dead end, cause homosexual and transsexual people don't reproduce. so it's litterally an evolutionary dead end.
Asker9 moExposed to what exactly? I wasn't aware they were having sex in the film? This was a married couple with a child who shared a kiss in the film. Does this not happen in the real world? Snoop Dogg can't control whether a lesbian couple is out for lunch and they kiss in front of his grandson anymore than they can control whether a kid sees an interracial couple (also once deemed wrong by society) sharing a kiss in public with their child. You must also keep in mind that not all straight couples can reproduce either. There are plenty who have had to use surrogates or adopt or simply cannot have children no matter how hard they try. Also assuming because a young child sees a gay couple they are going to be gay or start thinking of being gay, would then presume that all the gay adults that exist now and saw all the straight content, would have grown up straight. It doesn't work like that.
- 9 mo
Exposed to sexuality in general. don't you agree that this is not a topic minors should be exposed to? i think it's generally not acceptable to show sexual affection in public. now i won't go out of my way to try and stop it but i generally don't think it's ok to do, especially not in front of kids. and i think people still have that standard with straight people but somehow they don't for gay paople.
- 9 mo
also i think we shouldn't expose children to "alternative sexuality romance" in their formative years at all. cause it doesn't help confusing them about sexualities so early on. they can deal with that later. keep it with the standard while they're young as to not harm the vast majority of people who doesn't have alternative sexualities.
9 moI agree with him... and it's not just because Snoop Dogg used to buy weed from me while he was at the recording studio on Lankershim in N. Hollywood right next to that liquor store. It's because these libtards are putting this shit like that in movies and us normal people that live our day in Hollywood have to explain that shit to them.
He's just keeping it real.

9 moI generally agree with it.
I wouldn't care, in principle, if two characters in a kid's movie are lesbians. What I don't want is to have to explain to my 6 year old how two lesbians are having a kid.
I really am just there to watch the freakin movie.

9 moDoesn't matter unless it effects his grandson. Hypocritical is correct. All he had to say is the ladies love each other, that's why they're kissing. LIttle kids don't seek complicated answers. It'll be years before that boy asks anything that'll have to be explained in more detail. Some males are freaked out by "gayness" of any kind. Guess Snoop isn't as liberal as we all thought he was.
00 Reply349 opinions shared on Entertainment & Arts topic. The liberal media needs to stop pushing their trans, homosexual agenda onto kids. They are disgusting perverts, just like when disgusting liberal parents march naked in the streets of San Francisco while bringing their elementary age kids there to see it. Many of them need to be in prison.

9 moIt doesn’t belong in kids movies animated or not so I understand why he was caught off guard trying to explain that considering that’s a small minority of people in that group makes me wonder why they try to push or sneak that into movies that kids watch at such a young age when they will find out on their own later in life as most of us did and decide about it at that point in time

Because it's love between a man and a woman. It's normal for children to see. In a same-sex relationship, to children, it would be weird and would want to become gay and perform gay acts at an early age instead of waiting until they're older to understand everything that they're seeing.
