Boys should know about periods from an early age, like the girls. And girls should know about erections from an early age, like the boys.

Both natural processes that need no shame in talking about as long as the participants are willing, these should be taught at an early age as you never know how early they can happen. It can cause confusion and insecurities among children, teenage or not.

I do not believe in keeping these topics 'taboo' until a certain age. There's no age minimum to comfort. Or at least, there shouldn't be. Nor is it good to keep topics gendered,

Boys should know about periods from an early age, like the girls. And girls should know about erections from an early age, like the boys.

creates insecurity around the opposite gender of any kind.

My mom is like this, shaming me for talking about these to my closest friends and family, as long as they're boys. It has to stop.

Kids deserve to be confident and secure in natural processes that aren't their fault. Heck, I even get insecure using the bathroom with someone of the opposite gender sitting close by outside. I don't deserve to be.

Please reconsider before making any bodily function an inappropriate topic among your children. This nonsense isn't beneficial to anyone.
